After watching the movie again it really bugs me how easily all his suits fall apart in it. Remember in avengers when he's in the hellicarrier turbine getting tossed around like a rag doll lol?

True, but i accepted that its down to it being a prototype and essentially it is made of separate components and when it does tend to fall apart its usually because hes not in it :p

That's the design on 42 though, it is made of separate parts. It makes more sense for it to come apart when there is no occupant to dissipate the energy of impact, otherwise it must absorb it by crumpling or otherwise taking damage. If it comes apart it can reassemble. And all the times when Tony or Pepper were inside it was a very robust suit, it didn't separate and take human limbs with it.

And the rest of the Legion taking damage demonstrates the power and danger of Extremis. That's kind of the point.

In all fairness, the Extremis soldiers were super human and were probably able to heat up their hands like Killian to melt thru the suits.

The extremis soldiers wouldn't really have stood a chance against an army of suits that are all stronger than his previous main suits. I'm not saying I agree with it, his armors being weak in the film is my main gripe, but still I guess it worked for story purposes.

The whole Extremis thing was average at best. The Mandarin should have been THE Mandarin. Anyway, I'm not getting this now, the excitement has worn off, I might go for Silver Centurion instead.

I don't think they were all stronger than his previous main suits, that was never really established. They all just had different functions I think, so it was more a variety than stronger.

Someone was saying the final product at the Tokyo show this month appears not to have articulated skirt like wm2 and ip

I think your looking for "specialized". They were made for certain tasks, overall, the Mark VII seems to be the best suit in terms of overall arsenal tony has ever built. No suit in IM3 comes even close to showing that level of firepower

No suit in IM3 comes close to level of firepower of the Mark VI, let alone the Mark VII.
