The fact that hes cast in the movie and we have yet to see him in set pics etc... and I really think tony will only appear as tony (not IM). plus in the comics its been done a few times where Rhodey takes up being Iron man

Well apparently the IP armor was seen on set. I hope that's not the case cause I want him to go back to being War Machine. I'm pretty sure Tony will still be Iron Man in the suit, and yeah, Rhodey did become Iron Man for a bit when Tony was in a coma I think? And also when he was part of the West Coast Avengers.

He's had the red gold armor a number of times, coma was one but earlier I believe it was because the suit was making tony go crazy or something, so he stepped away from being iron man, could play in a bit to the Ultron origins too. Lots of time to speculate

Iron patriot was lame, it can go away along with the rest of IM3...

It was actually Rhodey the one going crazy in the Red and Gold due to it not being able to interface with Rhodey, the suit was tuned into Tony's brainwaves

After iron man 1, i read a whole lot of his history, there just so much you can easily misread something or get it confused with something else.

I got 6 more hours to kill at work, ill let you know

So 1st one was when starks alcoholism forced rhodey to don the suit

2nd was when he joined westcoast avengers/went crazy

3rd became warmachine

this is just from a brief read up

Sounds legit enough Rhodey gets messed up in later years tho

Iron Patriot was only good with Norman in the suit. Just, the origin story of the armor in Dark Reign/Dark Avengers is just brilliant.

Do we know what Mark suit is being used in Avengers 2??? I saw it today, nice to see it is mostly red again...with Mark 42 gold areas...but there was no info just a picture...

It is the MK XLII with reversed colors. I think a majority of us are assuming it is going to be the MK XLIII
