I took the shorts off mine and put them on his head.
It was a hot day in manhattan, and Hulk didn't want sun damage to his lovely green skin.

Ah I wouldn't leave that on him like that, you might get a stain on his back:horror

I was thinking since I don't have a stain that I would put a piece of clear plastic sheeting between the torso and shorts to avoid removing the shorts. That way I can avoid staining and keep him factory fresh.

You'll be quicker removing the shorts.
My shorts were only on his head for that one pic.
They are now in my plastic container that holds all my figure's accessories.

I was on the fence for weeks on this figure - just thought it was too big vs. all the other figures, happy to have taken the plunge, and at a fair retail price to boot

I got the smash kit from BBTS on Monday but haven't opened it. I thought I'd canceled it but apparently not. I'm not sure I will keep it. Might just put it in my FS thread.

Good review bro. I'm still gonna grab a few of these but I'm looking to use them more as props in my Avengers display than accessories for Hulk.

I'll try to get them on eBay. There were a few listings for $65 shipped; BBTS isnt the cheapest place to grab these.

Thanks:hi5:

Yeah bbts is a go to store for me, usually have good prices and ship like a champ. 65 shipped is not a bad price at all, you should be happy with the set at that price:wink1:

I'm looking to get two so maybe I can convince one of the eBay sellers to invoice me directly and knock off the fees. I'll be happy if I can get 2 at $60 a pop. Like you said, it's probably better suited at $40-$50 to your door, but prices like that are becoming less realistic. Some of the prices in the 1/6 world are going fkin' wild

Yes sir, prices are what they are, can't really fight it realistically:monkey4 They know were hooked and have to have this stuff and all that crap about not buying won't work for me cause I want the stuff:lol I could live without this set but when it comes to the figures I'm a complete sucker, I couldn't wait to order Snake Plissken today, I was stalking sideshows website all day:monkey5

As far as the black mark issue goes, I'd say it's a wise move to do something about the pants. It's only going to get worse with time and I image that most people have him hunched; to fit in a Detolf or just to mimic his on screen stature or whatever.

The black pants definitely serve a purpose so I wouldn't scrap them all together. I re-glued mine at a lower point so they still function but won't ever rub against the belly. I glued it at about 10 points going all the way around as opposed to HT's 4 points.

I understand what everyone is saying about removing the black shorts, what Im asking is if there's a safe way to remove the black marks if you hadn't previously done this. Also has anyone else had issues with the paint under the jawline?

I only have a small spot that's way on the underbelly so even when he's standing straight up, you still can't see the spot. I did try to get it out with a little Windex and then soap and water and neither did a thing.

Well I took off the pants and torso... Then didn't remove the black shorts. I do have two VERY slight black marks on the torso, but unless I'm looking for them, I'll never see them.

However, I'm ****ing pissed I did this. When taking apart the torso, the upper body flew out of my hand and hit the floor and now the right elbow ratchet is ****ed up. It still moves and has full range of motion, but all the clicks are gone and now I hear a grind when I bend it fully which takes a lot more force than it did before. **** me for caring enough about a black smudge UNDERNEATH the shorts waistline and damaging my figure as a result. My own stupid fault but still, mother ****er.

That sucks man. Stuff like this should definitely be done on a bed or over a rugged floor (on the floor so no high drops). He got away from me too. Both parts of the fig are so heavy and unwieldy that the force necessary to pull the two halves apart could easily send one part flying. I did the same exact thing and lost my grip on the upper portion. I was extremely lucky that nothing happened when it hit the tile floor.

It sounds like you're no different than they rest of us finicky collectors. I'm not telling you what to do but I know how annoying that situation is. My first reaction would be to take an L, flip the damaged one and keep the MIB. I've been there before several times with my Spidey, AVP Alien, etc. I'd sit on it a few weeks and see if you can live with it or not. If it's still too annoying than take the loss but maybe it's not as bad as you think once you cool down :wink1:

What kind of glue?

Yeah... I'm still debating. It was on a rugged floor and still messed it up. I'm also consider emailing sideshow to see if they will help me out since a short little fall shouldn't **** up a ratchet joint that badly. Guess it couldn't hurt to try.

I could be OK with maybe a $40 loss if I flipped the damaged one, which would mean I would need to sell it for like $330 shipped.

I agree that it's a good move to do something. However without knowing the manufacturers reason for the black shorts, just glueing them at a lower point may be defeating the purpose/location of the shorts in the first place. Also, the material itself appears to be a cause of some of the stains. So just lowering them may only lower the possible stain area.

This is just my reasoning. I have noticed that the skin underneath the shorts can stain without any friction or movement. If that holds up lowering the shirts may simply spreading the issue to a different area of the legs/thighs.

Thank you Skull! Great work! :hi5:

Thanks man:hi5:

As far as the hulk staining issue, I still think using clear plastic sheeting as a barrier between the torso an waste is the best solution, you could even slip it in without taking him apart ans you still leave things as they came from the factory, Just my take on the matter.

Problem is it doesn't just affect the torso. The spandex material can stain regardless.

I get that, don't get me wrong, staining from clothes is a big pet peeve of mine, but in this case there's only one way to display him, that's with pants so to avoid a visible stain on the pvc torso the plastic sheeting works, not that there's anything wrong with removing the speedo's except that the figure will no longer be a mint item.

Its Just the way I collect is mint in or out of box, so by removing the shorts that were glued in place, in my mind the item is now been tampered with from the factory settings, I'm a n a l:lol
