Oh I agree it’s the right move to get the Vader you want. Glad it worked out for you.

I was just surprised Sideshow wasn’t more thankful over the transaction.

I hear that. I don't think I'd ever run into this issue again tho, so the one time courtesy finger waving was fine with me. I'll likely only need this courtesy this one time anyways. If you think about this situation it was pretty unique.... Literally, when can that happen again? Double pack, to single pack, double character whammy?

Wonder how many ANH Vader 2.0 HT cannibalized by announcing this ESB Vader with that 1 still on Pre-Order? I was really close to Pre-Ordering the 2-pack on a payment plan as I thought ESB Vader was a couple years away, so glad I didn’t.

Yeah, I would've preordered this Hot Toys figure the second it came up for preorder. But my Iron Studios Darth Vader is saving me from doing it..... for now.

Great I preordered from KG too .The "estimated shipping" was 40$

Also anyone familiar with Urban Samurai Hobbies in Canada? That was another option but they don;t have it and it probably would have been 50$ more right off the bat if they did

I have ordered from them. They are money. The shipping does lag behind Sideshow but the prices are good and they are local for Canadians. There are added discounts if you pay upon order and they are great for adjusting and cancelling orders with out penalty. I am not sure about a cash refund but they will credit your account if you change your mind.

One thing to note is when you order and you want the fixed Candian currency price you need to specify that you want to be billed in Canadian. Even thought it goes in your shopping cart in CAD the charge to your credit card is in USD if you don't specify that you want to be billed in Canadian.

That’s all good.

But ultimately this is a plastic toy doll figure, proximately 1 ft in height. You’re not going to get accurate detail in something this small. But HT is doing a damn good job of getting close.

And on the whole accuracy deal - I like to think HT sort of stylizes there figure to make them look better. Vader in the films only looks good from certain angles, some angles the helmet looks goofy and disproportionate. If they made Vader exactly like he looked in the films he would probably not look to good in 12” form.

And they are expensive. I knew that going in. Which is why I used my reward points, I wouldn’t have bought it if those $87 in points weren’t available. [emoji23]

These days at 1/6 scale, $275 I don’t think the whole “you’re not going to get accurate detail in something this small” is kind of a mum point. Look at how great the kaiyodo sculpt looks for being several decades old.

yeah I still like my custom ESB vader with the Kaiyodo sculpt. that sculpt will probable still look better the the new HT ESB vader helmet when it comes out.

This shot looks like the Deathstar is being thrown at him and he's about to swipe it away with the saber.

Great piece though. Love the light up saber too. Has some real power !
