Everything about this statement is correct except remove the about Vader part.

They did round off the Widows peak. It's much sharper on my R1 Vader

I think it looks about right for TESB

I ordered this just in case they fixed the widows peak, glad they did. Its my all time favorite movie. With jazz's diorama its a must have.

I never understood that either. I don’t even know the difference between the 2. I just know ANH is way different.

ROTJ has some very slight differences vs tesb - (even) more glossy, cloak hook on chest armor which this figure looks to have as well, no widows peak at all, thicker bottom lip on the mask and a slightly different chestbox. That's what I can think off, sure there's some more.

Not worth waiting for with how this figure looks imo, my biggest gripe would be if they did Rotj release with Shaw sculpt under removable mask as the only head, I'd rather have empire one where only the dome comes off, less things to go wrong in production and I'd only display Vader as Vader anyhow.

I'm still not crazy about how they made his mouth lopsided in the wrong direction for some reason. Makes it look a bit off to me.

That last photo is older, not from this SDCC. You can also see the helmet is not properly assembled at the bottom lip which alters his look a lot. I think this is the 1:6 grail Vader right here, cant wait

Is that a hook on the armor to hold the cape chain in place? As far as I know, that's not something ESB Vader had (only ROTJ).

It also looks like there's a gap under the "teeth" grill. That would indicate that the facemask comes off. The preview pics only showed a back-of-the-head reveal, though; so the helmet should be sculpted as one piece with the removable dome covering the back. Has this changed to a full head sculpt reveal where the facemask comes off?

The hook looks like it’s on the chain itself and not on the chest armor. As for the seems in the face mask, indicating it’s a separate piece, I’m just as baffled...it’s completely unnecessary for an ESB release. Perhaps HT is thinking ahead and will use the same mold for ROTJ, where this piece comes apart for the reveal.

I have the original hot toys Vader and the ss rotj. Yes, I’m getting this. My favorite version of Vader and his best performance in a movie. I love the base and he will go well with bespin Luke dx. Plus, I’m insane and we only live once. My philosophy, if the wife can go spend $250 on hair there is no reason I can’t smuggle in a figure when she is out of the house every once in while.

Amen. Luckily my better half do not mind, she pretty much stole my Hot Toys Yoda and baby Groot figs for herself. And we all know they drop those $250 hairdos a lot more often then most of us smuggle a figure back home!

Agree..this looks more ROTJ than TESB...cuts on the mask/tusks and chain hook are wrong.
Hopefully they'll be fixed before release...

I have the RO Vader which I've modified into an ANH, so I do still need a shiny ESB/ROTJ Vader in my collection. But now I'm undecided whether it should be this or the new 1/4 Vader. I kinda feel like one 1/6 Vader is enough for me, but $580 is also a heckuva lot of money...

I think I might just have to wait to see the final production pics for this one first.
