This is what the original suit almost looked like in homecoming. I'm not going to lie if hot toys did this as a toy fair exclusive I'd have been all over it!

Me too, the Superior era is among my favourites. I don't think HT have done stuff based on concept art before, but there's a first time for everything!

Finally saw the movie - it was fun. I went in there for a light-hearted movie, and that's what I got. I would place it in the Ant-Man category of Marvel films as opposed to something like Civil War. Definitely want in on a normal suit Spidey DX.

Very cool looking!
looks like it was inspired by Alex Ross' concept before the Rami movies...

:slap somehow without the extra arms it just didn't click... of course it's the Superior suit! :duh Still it looks incredibly cool, though I can sort of see the logic behind not using the design when it's technically tied to another character

I love the suit in homecoming. As the first MCU costume, I think its awesome. It's a modern take on the classic costume.
Though I expect the sequels to have a cooler design and am open to see what they will come up with for homecoming 2 and 3.

I know we've kind of moved on, but it takes like two seconds to add the spoiler tags. Not much of an inconvenience and you won't ruin the movie for someone. Anyways, I'm excited to see this at comic con

Funny that the Superior suit was inspired by the Alex Ross conceptual that was never used only to become the conceptual not used by Homecoming. Honestly I loved the Superior Spider-Man arc, I love the suit look and loved the way the story was told but I would have hated if Peter used this in Homecoming.

It took a while for this suit to resonate with me after CW. I guess I was so stuck on the idea of something modern and McFarlane-esque, that I didn't appreciate the idea of the throwback costume modernized. Definitely a full fledged fan now.

As for the Avengers or Iron Spider suit, I paid closer attention when I want and saw this again the other day, and it definitely appears to be silver trim, not gold like in that concept art pic. If it's silver, I think that suit will grow on me eventually too. It'll never trump the more classic looks though

I finally ordered this the other day. Opted for the standard release as I'd never use the hoodie or blazer, and the Vulture helmet seems pointless to me. Too bad Vulture didn't make an appearance at the show. Why is it that only the crappy Spidey villains get made?

Totally agree!!! They've done the same with Superman and to an extent Batman. Really like that classic look modernized.

Pre-ordered the standard today to add to a small but specific personal favourite superhero display. Gonna look great !

Pre ordered this one after seeing the movie a second time. Liked the idea of having the home made costume figure beside it, like a before and after thing, but just gonna stick with the Deluxe. As a big Keaton fan, hence avatar, I will anxiously await to see if a Vulture figure materialises, as the perfect shelf buddy.

This is my first Marvel 1/6 btw. Looking forward to enjoying the wait with you guys ;)

Congratulations! I started my 1/6 collection with Hot Toys '89 Batman and Nicholson Joker. Those Keaton Batman films are classic (I love your username, BTW).
I find the Marvel figures to be the most addictive once I started collecting them. Welcome to the wait! But don't miss out on Doctor Strange while you're waiting. He already released in Hong Kong and looks incredible! Sideshow will probably start shipping him in September.
