Thanks, CL!
Figured I'd post some comparisons with the regular Finn sculpt. I was very skeptical that there would be much different aside from the obvious sweat they added (looks like he's sparkling in the second shot :lol), but it does look like there's maybe a bit more prominent freckling detail as well.

I was one of the ones who was a bit bummed they changed the sculpt for Finn but to me the sculpt really works with the Stormtrooper outfit, especially with the added sweat. Would have been great if they released both versions.

Wow, those shots really do show the difference. Love the sweat effect they added.

Doesn't the freckling occur naturally in the PVC (or whatever material it is) or is that a paint effect? I always thought it was in the material they used to cast the head sculpts and that's how we see so much differentiation between sculpts.

Glad you can see what I meant about the updated headsculpt - lecture [emoji851]

I always assumed it was paint but I'm not really sure. Like for the Han body the freckling is all over his torso and arms since those are exposed but then flat skintone plastic is used for the legs.

I stand corrected. :lol It's subtle but it does seem there's a bit more going on. The sweat effect however, is not subtle, and I have to say that combined with the expression the sweat adds a bit of realism that the regular sculpt lacks. The Luke stormtrooper had a similar effect but it's far less noticeable to me--not sure if it's a combination of skin color and maybe that his hair blocks some of the top lighting so the light doesn't catch the sweat as well on my display.

Looks great ton ton:)
:duff Thanks, irezumi!

Got this today and immediately ported it over to a short body I picked up from Toy Anxiety from the officer set.

Hi TonTon, do you happen to know if that's the same body that Luke stormtrooper uses?

Hard to say for sure. I know those have the padding all over them and I never took off the fat suit off this one to see for sure what this looks like but the arms are bare, seems similar. The arms seem to hang by the sides a bit better, though the armor still is problematic in that regard.

Picked it up from TA. Seems like they still have one. I sort of wish they sold it with the rubber suit still attached, but I ended up using the one that came with Finn trooper in the end. If anyone wants to make a custom with a clean stormie and the regular Finn head though, that's the ideal one to use.

This figure is now available from Secret Base for a limited time (until October 2nd), so strange how they've handled this release.

This had me howling!!

Decent time to grab this guy on eBay. Seller I bought from just lowered price to $307, plus there's a $15 eBay coupon tonight until 10pm PST

Maybe I should bite and get an eBay one... I was hoping Sideshow would get him though.

The prices keep getting incrementally lower and lower. I kinda wish I waited a bit since I'm so cheap, but I'm happy with the figure and I knew it was a gamble.

Yeah. I'm starting to get scared that I shouldn't wait. Although I thought Sideshow usually gets these exclusives?

Timcent is a very reliable seller from everything I've heard, and he just lowered his price to $299 or best offer. As they just released some stock to Secret Base in Hong Kong I guess it's possible they could release some stock to Sideshow as well. Hard to see, the future is.

There is a message on sideshow saying it will be available soon.

Oops just noticed it's been up for a while.

It's the same figure, the issue is just that they've had that up since SDCC, and usually they would have had a pre-order by now given that the figure has been released. It's really not normal for a figure to be released in Hong Kong/China (getting close to 2 months now), without even a pre-order going up at Sideshow. That's just why there's uncertainty. Plus the fact that that section has put up items before that never made it to pre-order (Hot Toys Falcon Cockpit, SHIELD hellicarrier).
