About this figure, wrong I was.
I will eat crow when I deserve it - I am absolutely thrilled with Yoda. It is still hard to stomach the price of admission, even with the free shipping and discount I had - BUT you get a good, good figure out of it. But judge him by his size you should not, as I mistakenly had.
I fear I'll take some flack for this one - but I am happy that this isn't a spitting image of the OT puppet - this one looks more real, sort of like what the puppet would have been modeled after if Yoda was a real organism. And in my mind, THIS portrait is what I associate with Yoda. Perhaps that just goes to show how good the OT puppet was at creating a realistic, lasting, mental image of the character.
And as cliche as it will sound - this looks MUCH better in person - significantly so. The eyes don't bother me one bit, and I actually prefer the open eyed sculpt to the closed one, which subverted all my expectations. I was expecting a water treatment would be necessary, and the fabric just drapes superbly out of the box. Really well done.
In short (no pun intended) - if you can drop the cash for this guy and feel the need to have a Yoda, then this is a tremendous representation of him. I am actually pleased enough with this guy that it softens my discomfort with other small figures I've had my eye on, like Rocket.
