How many of you luminous beings got 14-day notices from Sideshow?

Received mine, I have not.

Preordered on day one, I did not. :(

That is why I fail.

I am not afraid.

I will be.

I will be...

$20.24 to NY.

DAMN!! That's a $306.30 CAN figure. How does one justify over $300 CAN for that little guy? I do really want it in my display but it that just too much! I wonder if he will be around down the road for $50 off and free shipping. I guess if he is thats there where he'll find me.

When I ship figures I've sold, the shipping is always around $20 within the US. I double box, so the outer dimensions are larger than when Sideshow ships with only the brown box, so maybe the cost might be a little different. My wife ships a lot of her art work around the US and abroad, and overall, shipping costs always seem higher than they should be. They especially get you when they charge you extra for "dimensional weight" when boxes exceed a certain size, which really isn't that big a size at all. Even my reasonably sized figure outer boxes (~12"x18"x8") get that upcharge from UPS.

Are people suspicious of Sideshow because they think Sideshow should be getting some kind of discount rate from UPS/FedEx?

Sideshow's been double-dipping with exorbitant shipping rates for nearly two years now. No one should be shocked.

Any volume business, especially a principle distributor, should be getting a discount of sorts... and I'm sure they are.

For example, your cost of $20 across the country is probably their cost of $12 at most.

I think it's fair to say with regard to shipping that most of us don't ship through UPS and add insurance or signature confirmation when we ship a figure out. I think they basically charge retail on their shipping even though they obviously get a huge volume shipping discount. That said, they offer rewards when a place like BBTS doesn't (and allow $20 coupons on pre-orders) so it really ends up as a wash or cheaper when you add that stuff in (and don't live in CA).

Probably not. He'll be sold out before long--sold out most other places already.

You can use the $25 International collectors codes on anything now and you can stack them for a $50 credit. I already had one $25 one, so I used points to order the cheapest thing I could find (the heavy metal comic, was $8 and 5 for shipping), got a second $25 international credit for that order (plus a $25 thanks for your order code) and used the two international credits to get $50 off Yoda.

Since our dollar sucks you gotta get creative to save every buck you can haha. Also create a Fedex account (then get Sideshow to bill your fedex account for duty) so you don't get the extra import fee they charge if you haven't already.

Sideshow needs to knock it off trying to make extra profit off of the shipping prices. Business can't be that bad that they're resorting to nonsense like jacking up the shipping to make an extra $10. All they're going to do is drive people away. The products they sell are expensive enough as it is.

Man, I was ready to get this but when I saw the darker green nose in the early in hand shots, giving him that "puppy" look, it is making me pause. I know it's a little thing but I want to LOVE it for the money it costs.

I think they like to make their customers pay for their employees salary who ship this stuff.. Total free shipping for them, not for us. :( The Disney store has an extra 40% off today.. I have a total of 8 items in my cart that include 7 of those 7"die-cast figures and one elite 12" figure. Shipping over $50 is free, but even if it wasn't and I had to pay I'd only be charged $9.95... Each of those die-cast figures weigh nearly as much as a HT/SS 1/6 in the shipper...

It will be my loss but I don’t think I will regret if I find it hard to drop $300 CAN now. Again not knocking the figure I think it looks fantastic but just like how I can’t drop $30 + tax on 6” Star Wars figures (not worth the money) I can’t do the same here.

They also add $10 to $20 or more above retail for every Hot Toys or Sideshow figure and don't allow most discount codes (might allow free shipping though). You really have to compare apples to apples.

There are so many other places to buy Sideshow and Hot Toys figures from, I don't understand the griping about their shipping when there are probably a dozen other places you can price shop at.

The gripe is that sideshow has what amounts to a monopoly on HT distribution in North America so they set the damn prices, they play the song, and we all dance to it. Often times they jack up the Hong Kong street price in addition to charging way more than it costs them to ship. The only way to skirt sideshow is to buy direct from Hong Kong.
