Agree, this is on a 'Captain Jack Sparrow' level. I hope their EPVIII Luke is of similar quality.

Is no one else worried about those pleather jackets deteriorating like a few other HT figs' jackets have (HT Connor shown)?

How's the Star Lord jacket doing? I think that might be a better comparison for the materials they are using now.

ANH version is far more popular. I wouldn't worry about this being sold out anytime soon.

It's perfect, just like every other piece of pleather I've bought over the last 20 years.

In some pictures han looks good. In others his hair reminds of the guy from serenity. Starting to respect the medicom cowboys and aliens sculpt more.

Guess it's about which movie you prefer. I'm into the OT mostly and very happy with my Chewie. It's a masterpiece. I really don't see how this new one is better - unless you prefer blonds and articulated jaws.

Han looks great in that pic. Even Chewbacca looks better to me there too.

I'm still amazed they were able to execute it on a production scale as well as they did. Chewbacca has been a Star Wars customizer's bane for so long now. It's nice to see not one but two of them available for sale.

...but are we certain that this is the true production piece? Are the proported release dates on the set for real and iron clad? When Luke was shown at Secret Base, they were still using a prototype sculpt:




I LOVE this Han sculpt...I just don't think I have another Luke Proto/Luke Prod, Finn Proto/Finn Prod level let down left in me

I don't think so. It's more or less the same otherwise as far as I can see. I prefer the 'old' Chewie's face also. -
...the bandolier and bowcaster are different designs too of course.

I think TFA Han, in person, looks amazing. The TFA Chewie in person looks OK, but not great. If this makes any sense, Chewies' head looks too puffy (among other issues). They claim at Secret Base that this set will actually be out between October and December of this year, if that is indeed the case, doubtful that there will be any revisions ... I've seen some photos on this board that really make the ANH Chewie from Hot Toys look pretty incredible, all done with skills that I will never possess ...

Yes, but the factory may be in full swing to produce these for September/October release, but that does not preclude HT from throwing up the proto at Secret Base to show off a truly jaw-dropping achievement by JC and the team.

The Secret Base close ups look fairly identical to the JC Hong's paint master. I've seen some great proto to production translations, and I've seen some very poor ones, but I've never seen a perfect one yet. I guess I'm skeptical because we haven't gotten the requisite let down (even if minor) on this piece yet.

Don't mean to be the wet blanket for this figure, I really don't. No one hopes this comes out EXACTLY like the Secret Base shots more than me (since I've already pre-ordered ), but I like things to add up....and right now I feel like I'm missing a polynomial.

That's why I wait for the first in hand shots from HK before I commit to any orders nowadays. These figures are way too expensive so I have to make sure I see exactly what I am getting. Luckily this has no exclusive so it should be around for awhile.

No because it's not from the same movie. If it was an updated version of the first one then yeah I would be a little upset. Either way it's not uncommon of HT to do updated versions.
