the head seems slightly thin? idk... this should be one of those definite buys but the material and lack of oomph/wow factor is quite surprising. this should be the definitive spidey suit yet i'm not sure it's worth the same price as winter soldier.

I don't honestly think we'll see this figure released this year. I do like the figure, however the soles of the feet are not movie accurate.

Do people really like Medicom's 1/6 figures? I think its great they make them, but comparing them to HTs and their price is usually $199...its not really even close IMO who makes superior products. I had all the TDK Trilogy Medicom but sold them all just because HTs were so much better. and Medicoms ASM figure did not look good at all to me. The suit was really baggy looking.

This new HTs version is great I think!! I even liked the ASM 1 version a lot. But again, gotta wait until final production pieces are revealed.

For those worried about "will the next Spider-man be better"....yah it probably will. With HTs when they make figures from these huge franchises that have multiple films, they will keep getting better. You have to sort of want to collect them just for the single movie. Like this is the Amazing Spider-man version....and this is the Amazing Spider-man 2 version. If your trying to collect the "perfect" Spider-man or any other character your waiting will go on forever...LoL

You must have forgot about HT's early TDK figure with oily abs, or other complete disasters like the Comedian that is pretty much a puddle of ooze at this point. All companies have their duds and HT is no different. Medi's Spidey's have been better than Ht's offerings and more accurate as well. For all the praise we give HT on amazing releases/sculpts it's okay to be honest when they release duds.

ya I have the first DX TKD figure, never had oily abs and I got one of the early batches. Never had a problem with any of my HTs figures other than when they are shipped sometimes the boxes got damaged in transit and my First Avenger Cap's shield has a little peeling going on.

its fine though. we all have our own opinions. Its cool Medicom makes figures, its fun collecting lots of stuff from different companies, just comparing a HTs TDK figure to a Medicom TDK figure, ill take HTs. Same with ASM 1, HTs vs Medi, ill take HTs...but thats just my opinion. Others may feel different.

You got the website? Because someone else said a place had it for $199 which would make it around $220 here. Much more believable price point than $240.

not really, it's from local sellers on ebay and their prices are around the standard for PO pricing give or take $5-10 bucks. You can google TFH.com.sg but theirs has the retail price of $280 sgd, not the PO price. Either way for me it's just too much for such a simple figure that may peel if posed too much or even just standing over time. As for the $199 quote I think it's from Amiami and does not include shipping or smth.

They'll justify the price tag with all of the accessories they've included as well as the DFS. (dynamic figure stand)

I know deep down that I'm going to end up with this figure, good or bad. The only thing I'm getting hung up on is the red suit material. Looking at my ASM1 figure though, that material doesn't look too different from ASM2. My guess is that in order to get the brickwork pattern as well as the embossed webbing, they had to make concessions in the material choice. I'm sure they didn't just pick up a bolt of fabric and say "yup, we'll roll with that and not try anything else." There's got to be a good reason why it is what it is. Hopefully he looks good on shelf, after a light black wash to help give him some dimension.

You don't have to settle for crap man. Wait until the inevitable third ASM is out, and hopefully they'll make it better. I know that's what I'm doing.

I expect another Spidey from this film. They didn't include a Parker sculpt, the release date is 2 or 3 Q and the overall design strongly resembles ASM suit. I am thinking this is rush job to meet films release and a better version is coming later.

Maybe it was easier and cheaper to reuse the same material and body from the previous figure.

But what if he wears a different suit or they make the eyes smaller or they use silver webbing in AMS3? That would be a disaster. HT need to change the latex to fabric, asap. I already sent them an email

Ha. I don't think it's crap. I got my ASM1 figure early from TIMCENT and loved it. Still do. In some of the new pics the suit looks very similar to the ASM1 suit, material-wise. Others it looks like Medicom vinyl. I'm going to give Hot Toys the benefit of the doubt that they're going to deliver a solid figure. You'd think that with ASM1 being such a recent release, they would be able to build upon and improve the next iteration.

I'm more trying to look at what they did right than wrong and so far the good outweighs the bad, for me at least. Take a close up look at the detail of the eyes, the new hand swapping system, and the all important scarf.

i'm just worried if the material will withstand time. if not it looks great but could be better. But i'm priced out of this as we get so little.
