Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS264 - X-Men: DOFP: Wolverine Collectible Figure (Specs + Pics)

People like to rip on the fact that Logan just walked around, talked, and laid down in the future. So what spectacular displays are you so excited about setting up with the 70's Wolverine? Are you planning on posing him getting his ass kicked by Beast, a Sentinel, or Magneto? Or are you looking forward to positioning him as if he were watching Quicksilver kick ass? Or maybe you want 70's Wolverine so that you can pretend he's having a panic attack while looking at Stryker?

:wave Panic-attack Wolvie for me!

To me, Wolverine/Logan is best represented in his civilian clothes. So unless HT's going to release X1 or X2 Logan in civies, then the 70s civies look is the next best thing. Logan doesn't need to be on the attack to look bad ass. He can just stand there with his eyebrow raised and look like he owns the place. The 70s look also kinda reminds me of the 80s Byrne look. The only thing I would hate about a possible 70s Logan is that he would only have the bone claws. Which I hate.

Did I mention I hate the bone claws?

:lol :lol

I plan on displaying him with a couple of other my Hot Toys figures recreating one of my favorite comic book covers.

This head sculpt is by far the best rendition to date from Hot Toys. The suit though kinda looks like a Motocross outfit. Not sure why Wolverine would need any kind of body armor at all. :dunno

Not sure if anyone mentioned this already, but with all the 2-pack benders HT has been on recently (Han and Chewie, Rocket and Groot, Murphy and Robo...), why not this guy with 70's version companion? Unless they're saving that for a con exclusive or something? Better get Kato on it in the meantime. :wink1:

Marlindesign started up an interest list on a '70s Wolvie jacket by Kato, if you're really interested.

No matter which one they make, most guys will just have him standing in the museum/waiting for the bus pose.

How do you pronounce "Byrne"...I thought it was "burn"...just curious.

Maybe Wolverine does Xtreme Motocross in the future? :huh

Artists:
- Head Sculpted by Clare Yoo
- Head Painted by JC. Hong
- Head Art Directed by Yong Kyum, Kim

My first time to hear Clare Yoo and her(?) work already proves that HT has talented sculptors other than their more popular household names. Perhaps it's time to pass the baton to these artists next time they sculpt RDJ and Arnie.

**** yes. Please.

:exactly:

I would hope that HT would realise people want the metal claws and include those aswell if/when they make 70s Wolverine.

Let's hope they keep the mustache the same as the proto this time.

And yes. Also, please.

I bet I know exactly the one you're talking about. A comic I bought off the rack as a youngster. My favorite comic cover also had Wolverine on it, but doesn't lend itself to a toy display.

Re: X-Men: DOFP: 1/6th scale Wolverine Collectible Figure.

Nah, you're right, it's not spot on. The nose needs to be slightly thinner, and the cheeks need to be a little more full.

Before any of the HT fanboys jump in, let me forestall you. It's a good sculpt, and HT best Jackman yet by a country mile, but could still use a tiny bit of tweaking.

Agreed. Yeah I thought that about the nose but wasn't sure without looking at a pic of Jackman.

Neck seam visible. Will not buy!

Joking aside, it actually is pretty ugly. I'd deal with it but I really don't know why they do it that way.

That's how I've always pronounced it.

Would make for a great display with Amazing Spider-Man 1 Spidey. Then add in Spider-Man 3 Goblin as a snowboarder and you have a truly X-Treme shelf that would make Rob Liefeld and Zach Snyder smile.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS264 - X-Men: DOFP: Wolverine Collectible Figure (Specs + Pics)

I guess Wolverine wears body armor because he dislikes being stabbed and shot, and I imagine growing your flesh back is not a soothing sensation.

It seems he puts himself in painful situations in pretty much every movie they've done. I thought it was badass when those guys shot him and the bullets just worked themselves out and fell on the floor. That's intimidating!

Thought this looked good. from facebook.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS264 - X-Men: DOFP: Wolverine Collectible Figure (Specs + Pics)

Do you guys think they'll do a 70's version?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys MMS264 - X-Men: DOFP: Wolverine Collectible Figure (Specs + Pics)

The outfit is a weird sort of comic book/movie compromise.

The head is the only thing that looks any good on this to me, but Head Play are bound to put out their recast version.

Looks amazing, about time we got something other than Iron Man from the Marvel line.
