There was this website that I used to have bookmarked, but I have already deleted it as they are no longer updating their list, and the bookmark started re-routing to another site. It had all HT releases in its list, from their old military figures to their DXs (it did not include HT's unlicensed releases when they were still a start-up company though).

I remember that HT saved MMS 200 for Superman almost 2 years ago :)
For real? They actually planned it years ago? Lol damn. Why Superman though? Weird.

Oh no, I don't think so. Sorry for making you think that way. It's just that over at the DC section I remember being part of a discussion guessing who would be given the landmark MMS200 number. It was a fun discussion, MMS 199 (Roadblock) was already up then, so was MMS 201 (Jor-El). So some of us had a fun guessing game. Some were thinking it could/would be a Terminator figure, being that Terminator was the first MMS figure (Terminator fans had their hopes up when Plastic Enemies trolled by posting a "Kyle Reese Remake" photo). I was one of the ones who thought it could be Superman. I think it's why HT threw a bonus which is the 1:1 key replica, as celebration of 200 MMS figures.

Magneto could crush Ultron into a little ball and toss him out into space in about 10 seconds.

But of course

If HT ever does a Fassneto, the helmet setup will probably be the same as Avengers Loki.

That'd be okay.

Even though I'd prefer a 2-pack of Fassbender and McKellen, a set of Fassbender in costume and civies like the Cap set from Winter Soldier would be an instant buy from me.

:exactly:

Good eye; I don't think HT's announced those yet. At least there isn't anything new on their website that would fit in those spaces.

I don't know about threads, but this is the best site I've found lately. There was a much larger checklist website somewhere, but I can't seem to find it anymore.

All Hot Toys needs to do is give us Fassneto and Professor X, wait and see how well they sell before getting the rights to other characters.

Agreed.

Have exclusives for both (Magneto's helmet from the end of First Class would be great as would Xavier's first Cerebro helmet)

But if Hot Toys is smart, they'll play this like they did with Hulk/Banner, Cap/Steve & Robocop/Murphy = 2-packs of Fassbender/McKellen and McAvoy/Stewart

I don't know that I agree with it being wise to offer two packs. HT stated twice the difficulty and cost in obtaining licensing from this film. All the negative feedback the price caused this figure, I would imagine a two pack would generate similar buzz. Anything from this line will likely be pricey, I invision a two pack being $500+ when a single figure runs $270.

That's actually great info, even if it's just confirmation of stuff we suspected or was rumoured. Personally, I don't think his answer bodes well for other X characters. The Wolverine didn't sell through and is discounted, and the way people are complaining about DOFP Wolvie, I find it hard to believe it won't be discounted in time, too. Unless Wolverine sells out at full retail, don't know why they'd bother with making more characters.

Good to know they do have plans to remake the first seven armours in diecast. (*sighs* Guess that means I'll be adding Mark IV, eventually.) A lot of people here were saying it was unlikely, as only Mark III 'needed' to be done.

Also, awesome news that the OT is indeed their focus and we won't see a PT Anakin for a good, long time. He was rumoured since Luke to be next (with ANH Han), so I'm glad that's finally been put to rest.

I want to say Yay but again it's a just a wait and see PR-speak with no guarantee

I agree that this is just a wait and see deal, but it makes little sense to endlessly lead on consumers who are interested in this franchise. I definitely think we will see some more X-Men figures but the timing is the key issue. For instance, will we get a Magneto or Charles within the next year? Maybe. Depends upon how actively HT is pursuing the likeness rights. This is also the most irritating issue with whole X-men HT dilemma. I wish they would say "We will do absolutely everything within our power to attain the likeness rights of the most popular characters of this franchise within a timely manner". A statement like that would carry a little more weight than what they are currently saying. At this point they need to either do the figures or let everyone know they are going to pass. Then we wouldn't need to hash out the possibilities based on HT vague responses to simple questions.

Meh. The people that complain about the price maybe only makes up about 5% of the collecting community. Maybe people love this Wolvie and he'd sell well. Who knows for sure, right?

Thanks for the kind words.

I wasn't guessing about what I said. I just happen to have worked with or for the majority of the people/parties/companies involved. First hand knowledge.

As for saying magneto or Charles will sell is just not supported by previous releases of these characters. Both hot toys wolverine and other collectible figures/statues in the history of the characters. I would love to be proven wrong.

As for hot toys saying publicly they will do anything to get the license...that's not a smart PR or business move. If they don't get the license, after saying they where doing everything people either blame them or call out actors which damages their relationships. And if they say that they loose all the leverage for negotiating. They've said about the right thing. They want to make more but it's complicated and costly and sales determine production.

That's hard to say though. Not every X-fan is a Wolverine fan.

HT has made Wolverine x amount of times with little regard for the other characters, so it wouldn't surprise me if every Wolverine release only attracts the... you guessed it... the Wolverine fans (all while pushing other X-fans away).

Fassneto on the other hand has seen a rise in popularity. The main difference here is that Wolverine has already been exhausted in terms of 1/6 exposure, whereas Fassneto has not even seen a single form of a high-end collectible merchandise let alone even a Hasbro or Marvel Select figure (before anyone brings up Minimates, please just stop).

Couple that with the fact that this has been Magneto at his most popular in recent years, I can easily see fanboys and fangirls caving in for HT Fassneto. It's just unfair to say that Fassneto can't be a popular choice just because past figures of Magneto that aren't even based on Fassbender's version didn't do too well.

I wonder why no 70s Logan as well as the future version? They have Hugh's rights. It's a Grail of mine going back years...just a classic Logan figure.
