The only indications about Avengers tower that we see in the movies were at the end of Avengers and in Winter Soldier .... I kind of wished Iron Man 3 at least had a quick nod to it since it was the first movie post-Avengers.

Weren't Banner and Stark in Avengers tower in that post credits scene no one likes, from IM3

Ha I guess you're right, Brainy ... definitely not the biggest fan of the scene. I did enjoy seeing Banner the first time I watched it though

So, one thing that bothered me the whole movie that I was expecting to be covered but never was. In IM3, Tony blows up all of his armors, he's done with all of the Iron Man stuff. I was expecting an explanation on what brought him back in the game, but there was nothing. Or did I miss something? OOOH! Or, does that mean that IM3 was not cannon and was not supposed to happen? Because that would be just swell!

He never was "done with iron man", the last line is [no matter what happens] I AM IRON MAN. The House Party suits were a symptom of crazed PTSD, no sleep and building specialized suits for every possible situation out of anxiety and fear. He was distracted building those instead of dealing with his demons. He clean slated them, had his arc reactor removed and took his tools and dummy from the wreckage of the Malibu house and moved into Stark/Avenger tower permanently, as alluded to in the post credits scene of IM3, and Winter Soldier-

He didn't build 35 more suits in the interim,
he put his energy to the Avengers, paying for everything and making everyone look cooler. He still has his suit (Mk43), which is essentially the fully capable version of Mk42, Hulkbuster and another prototype (Mk45).

I can't get enough of the mark 43 landing and delivering the underhand repulsor blasts...going to try that pose if I get the figure ha

More accurate?
Probably meant something with more accurate weaponry to what is seen in the movie.

It's easy to fault and blame Hot Toys for not making this figure anything more than a straight Mark 42 repaint with a new base without really knowing anything behind the scenes. What if Hot Toys wasn't given any supplemental material about the weapons in the movie? What if those weapons were late additions to the film? What if Marvel demanded or requested that this figure be released while the Avengers hype was still high? Toys and merchandise are usually made with very little information about the final product to go off of, the War Machine Mark 2 from Iron Man 3 being the perfect example. Pretty much every toy company made a War Machine Mark 2, because at some point during production it was going to be in the movie. It got cut from the movie, the wheels were already in motion at the toy companies.

Yeah pretty much all the weaponry we saw in the movie + a more accurate .. non glossy paint job.

Just got an email saying my WL will probably not convert from SS.
I got one a little while ago, too. Bummer. I got on the list on January 18th and have been hoping for a conversion ever since. Should I believe SSC, given that bicrod got converted after ordering one week earlier?

Why do you say less glossy? I see that for every armor. They are all painted by the design firm (the mock ups and prac suits) with a gloss paint.

The weapons are not a big deal for me. Stuff gets changed and added all the time. So not worried about that. Six months from now most people won't even remember.

But the paint is fine.
