For those of you who have both Mk 42 and 43, which is your favorite?

I go back and forth. I love the stand on the 43, the weathering, yet the gold on the 42 does seem to make it stand out more from the other mostly red armors.

I go back and forth with them just like you do and for exactly the same reasons.

Looking at them side by side even though they're definitely similar they both look unique enough where I almost may consider getting the Mark XLIII at some point. I like the weathering on the XLIII a lot and it would be nice to have a more traditional looking suit with the red being more prominent.

The Mark 42 and Mark 43 are my two favorite armors to date. The "autonomous prehensile propulsion" function of both of the armors still fascinates me. I have a terribly hard time deciding which one of them I like more. The Mark 42 has the unique, predominantly gold color scheme, but the Mark 43 is the more combat-ready suit with the more classic Iron Man color scheme. From what I've read in other conversations, many people thought the Mark 42 was a joke, but I've always silently disagreed on the grounds that it was a prototype (read...PROTOTYPE) armor that was far more advanced than any armor before it, so of course it was going to have glitches. Personally, I thought it was a really cool armor. But anyway, I've always thought that most people prefer the Mark 43. When I first put my Mark 42 and Mark 43 side by side, I began leaning toward liking the Mark 43 more myself. Regardless of which one I like more, they complement each other stunningly.

On a related note, since I believe this thread was where I first asked for recommendations for display shelves and everyone suggested Detolf, I wanted to say thanks guys! I'm blown away by the structural reliability I got for the cheap price I paid, and the LED lights I got for it this afternoon left me utterly speechless.

Nice zack! :clap

I'm really wanting some sort of glass display :lol

Looks good zack.

Nice display Zack. :duff

Thanks, everyone! I definitely recommend the Detolf to anyone who is looking for a display. Here is the full display so far (minus Falcon, whose wingspan is so large that I had to put him on top of the shelf haha). It should probably make it obvious which Marvel character is my favorite. My friend took one look at it and recommended getting a second Detolf. One for the Avengers (once they all begin trickling in, and including the Mark 43), and one for nothing but Iron Man armors. Probably a very good idea. :lol

Great pic Zack my IM armor collection is exactly the same minus the 43. :hi5: Got the 1/4 on order but really am thinking about getting this to.

I know I'm not one to judge, but sometimes I wonder if one truly has the passion and actually care for the item they own. 8 out of 10 photos I've seen have either misaligned shoulders, awkward positioning be it the heads, arms or legs.

That's awesome! :hi5: The 1/4 is definitely on my radar. I haven't ordered it yet, but I've already accepted that I'm probably going to get it.

Pretty sure anyone into this hobby cares about these figure given the amount of cash we spend for them. My biggest issue with posing is the time it takes to make them perfect at least in my eyes...
