I quite like the base, they could've just used the base from the other diecast figures though so I think either way there's no real difference as it'd be a reused base regardless. :)

Good point. But then the base was the only thing that some of those who wanted this figure held on to at least justify the huge bump in price compared to Mark 42, as they thought that it was the only new thing about this figure.

Turns out it's just the half-an-Ultron.

Hey, the base looks great but it isn't very practical. This is $345 because it's diecast and it's affiliated with Avengers. That's pretty much it in a nutshell.

42 was $310, so for $35 more you get that sick ass ultron (which will sell for at least $70 on flea bay) its worth it.

Yeh I am happy paying foe what they are selling... fancy smancy base, bashed up Ultron and an extra helmet for not much more than the 42 (plus I just prefer the 43's colours).

Plus like otherd have said, Avengers tax

This figure is going to end up in the Wine cellar so I don't need the base. I'm holding out till they release a different version.

I preordered the exclusive as well, but I have to say I wish they had used the same stand as the others. I was really excited the Mark III will have the same type, why change? Or start offering some sort of updated generic one for those of us that don't like the cluttered scene bases.

Am I the only person hoping for a movie where Tony's armour can survive the whole battle?.. Probably won't happen during an Avengers movie, but it feels like every movie the writers keep looking for reasons to switch him into something newer or better.

Nope! They showed a lot of restraint with the first Avengers. And then it went on to gross $1.5 billion Then we got IM3 and the HPP. At what point do toy sales start to drive the plot/story arc? Kinda like Cars for grownups. :lol

Yes, your right there..., didn't think about that. The Ultron figure (partial figure) is still worth having though, well for me at least as I'm trying to stick to Iron Man suits only & I did want an Ultron so this at least covers that (& helps resist the temptation to get sidetracked). :)

Yeah, or the original cartoon Transformers movie and time-shift of the TV series... They wrote out/killed off over 50% of the characters to satisfy a new toy lineup... In hindsight they didn't count on the huge popularity of in particular the Optimas Prime and Megatron characters, and it went downhill with Rodimas/Magnus and Galvatron..

Even Micheal Bay and his average-terrible Bayverse realised there are somethings you don't tinker with... Optimas Prime, especially voiced by Peter Cullen being the top of the list...

Back to Iron Man, aside from the damage to each suit, there was a logical progression from Mark 1 - VII (ignore the specialist purpose V), but it still felt like in Avengers they got to the 3/4 point and decided, dammit bring out the new unproven prototype... at least we got a cool Tony vs Loki scene for it I guess..

Most of the suits seem gratuitous albeit cool nonetheless. For me, I'm trying damn hard to stick with new suits only. With mostly new sculpting and parts. No PowerPose at all.

So for that reason, I have to pass on the M43.

thats cool.... I'm doing the same with the HPP armors, skipping repaints and minor alteration armors and only getting the unique ones. I couldnt skip this armor because I'm getting the complete AOU line

So long as we're speculating, this isn't the Bleeding Edge armor, is it? Or may that come in the form of Mark XLV?

I would imagine this one has all the features of the 42 (just this time it works) but in my opinion it looks like Bleeding Edge (and in my display iy will represent that armor, least when displayed with only IM suits).

Now the Mark 45, that could be BE, although for the movies I think it's better the suit stay separate from Stark himself.

Yeah it definitely looks like the BE but I cant see the MCU introducing that concept, its a bit too much. Extremis would be awesome but even then I doubt we'll see it portrayed with the gold under sheath oozing from his bones, it will end up just being "mind control" that uses those plugs he installed in IM 3
