I saw a while back somebody modded the closed fists to have magnets in. I bought a pair of fists for 99 cents (thank you Monkey Depot) so I can give it a shot myself without risking ruining my figure.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions?

Thanks man that's cool to hear:hi5:

Here's the review

Awesome review TS! Even awesomer figure.

It's seems the common quibble is the limited mobility in his arms, due to them being too stiff. The right arm on mine in particular has limited mobility because of the shoulder joint being too loose, so his arm has the propensity to fall limp and doesn't stay up well. Even though they all have limited mobility, I would prefer the joint to be a little more stiff, as the majority of them seem to be. Contacted SS about it, so hopefully they can send me a new one and the shoulder joints aren't as loose on it.

Does anyone know how that process would work by the way? Despite all the money I've dropped with them, I've never had to exchange a figure. Do they send you a new figure and after receiving it, the onus is on you to return the defective one or else they'll charge your account for two figures? Or do you have to return the original one and once they receive it, they'll send you a new one?

A little update on some modifications I did on some hand sculpts for the AoU Cap figure. For those that remember, I bought a set of fists off of ebay and modified them by making some magnets on the top of the fists. . . well, when I received my figure yesterday, I tried the modifications and the sheet magnets I purchased just were not strong enough to hold the shield like the open palm magnets on the figure.
Reason I tried to modify the hands is because I'm just not too happy with the way the magnetic hands are shaped, with such a wide, open palm. . . silly I know, maybe some others are thinking they look a little too wide. I understand cause Cap can also grip the handle, but all in all, I think the majority of us will be taking advantage of the magnets vice the grip. So, I modified those hands by soaking them in some hot water to make the fingers manageable and then super glued them into a fist type of pose. Now I bought another pair of mag hands on ebay, just in case I want to use them for the grip. Let me know what ya'll think of the mod.

I may try this mod myself if the open hand really bothers me. I won't know until this evening when I pick my Cap up... I worked for a laser manufacturer a while back and acquired some small yet extremely powerful magnets that I think would work much better than a standard craft store magnet.

Just to give you a quick instruction; after I soaked the hand in hot water, I moved the first and middle finger down and used super-gel on the thumb and placed it over the first two fingers. Then I glued the ring finger next to the middle and then the pinky next to the ring finger. It works pretty good and I think it looks better.

Will watch, Skull does good reviews :rock

Great job buddy :clap

Thanks buddy:)

Thanks, yeah that sucks that yours has a loose arm, sorry to hear that, they usually send you a replacement body and ask you to destroy the defective one:lecture

Nice review mate!

Pics are up on my IG account of Captain America! I LOVE him! He is the definite Cap. My ONLY question is.....how do I get the hands into the pegs?

What an interesting idea ... I might have to get some extra hands to try. My only beef with the figure is the grip on the magnetic hands.

Thanks for the sentiment TS.

So I heard back from SS regarding it, and they stated that they verified with their in-house display that the arms on the figure seem to be consistently loose, as the arms on their figure are pretty much only posable in a downward facing position as well. The elbows bend normally (which mine do as well), but they say the shoulder joints on their figure are definitely a bit loose. They stated the reason for this is likely due to the nature of the suit design.

It sounds like this, in addition to the occasional lazy eye on some of the headsculpts that others mentioned in the thread, seem to be the main issue with this figure. I lucked out with the headsculpt and got one that had both eyes facing the same direction to the left.

And like others mentioned, I do wish the magnetic hands were a little more closed fisted.

Still definitely the best Cap figure though thus far, in my opinion. I love this guy.

Just got mine in.. Happy to finally have him.
While he looks really good on the team, overall he's probably my least favorite HT Avengers figure so far, and the one with the most limited display options despite an extra head and 3 extra sets of gloves.

1 - If you're posing with the shield (which is the reason to use the magnets in the first place), why have only open hands magnetized? Why not put magnets in all the gloves so we have choices? Only putting the magnet in the open hand and not the closed fist is a big-time fail imo.
2 - the elbow and knee pads (especially those knee pads! :gah:) make any kind of dynamic posing difficult at best, very problematic/extremely awkward-looking at worst. Anybody figure out how to adjust the pants so the pads are where the knee is if his leg is bent or at any kind of angle? Even just standing straight the knee pads don't look in place, especially his left leg.

3 - the decision to have the un-helmeted sculpt looking off to the side has resulting in most people getting a lazy-eyed Steve to one degree or another. I most likely won't ever be displaying mine using that extra head, which is too bad because it is an otherwise pretty spot-on likeness.
