After seeing the movie I prefer the Prime to the "roided out" Final version. However I agree the neck is too skinny and not sure if the mouth opens enough (a little more would be good). So gonna wait and see before ordering. Had it been diecast I would have POed by now.

Yea seeing his final version of Ultron during his final form, I want Ultimate Ultron, some say he started to look like Megatron which I have no problem with. They released 2 versions of Ultron so far, why not give us Ultimate Ultron

dont worry, i'm sure they are going to make the ultimate ultron.
probably will make his debut at the summer toy show around July.

I only felt like he started to look like a Decepticon on the close up of his face when Thor, Vision, and Tony are all blasting him. I thought he looked more like Starscream than Megatron though in that shot.

It's interesting to note that some versions of Ultimate Ultron in the art book depicts him as having his mouth and eye areas glowing the same way as he does in the comics. The more I think about it, the more I wish they just went and made Ultimate Ultron's face straight-up based on his traditional comic visage.

I think it would have made sense in terms of how Ultron was essentially deprived of the final form he had wanted for himself. Ultron clearly designed his Ultron Prime form to be more humanoid, with his intended final form being practically a full-on android (Vision's body). When his plans were compromised, he obviously had to take a more literal approach in terms of upgrading his Prime form (applying vibranium coating), and I feel that reverting it to the classic visage would have communicated that desperation on his part as it gives off a really robust vibe to the design like the Mark I, in stark contrast to the majestic form of Ultron Prime.

I think it would have made the confrontation between Vision and Ultron even more visually-captivating, as the contrast between the impressionistic/rough-cut visage of Ultimate Ultron and the more humanoid/refined design of Vision would have served to really emphasize what Ultron had lost through the creation of Vision.

Again, I LOVE Ultron Prime's design and I didn't mind how Ultimate Ultron looked, but I just kinda wished they differentiated it more from Ultron Prime to really set them apart as it would have made the differences all the more noticeable.

If Ultimate Ultron had the classic head, that would've already been an instant buy for me...but I won't buy a Sentry. XD

Man, I love concept art. The only downside is seeing how much better it could have been, which is almost always the case.

Ultron Prime - First Set (photos by me)

These were pretty close to the final design. They talk about the different feel they attempted with these ones. Also the cloak and church scene were Whedon's idea.

Wtf. I can't stop laughing at this. I'm glad this was the first pic. He looks like an underwear model for some magazine. XD

Ultron Prime - Second Set (photos by me)

Unlike the first set, these designs were hinted to have been done earlier during the brainstorming stages where they sort of just did different takes on Ultron just to get some ideas out there (my personal favorite being the 2nd artwork in the 1st pic). Certain artists went for industrial vibes, another went for something more alien, a few even purposely drawing inspiration from comic depictions of Ultron (such as the multiple arms and the jack o' lantern face). If anyone's wondering, I've left out some pages of other designs. Some of the shots came out blurry though so I apologize for that (just buy the art book it's totally worth it!)

Ultron Prime - Third Set (photos by me)

Whedon had one thing in mind: he wanted Ultron to emote. So the different concept artists pitched their own ideas of how to render Ultron's face. Some resorted to using multiple plates to simulate a moving face, while others went for something very human (the 4th set of photos are borderline nightmare fuel). Although Whedon wanted to give Ultron a more humanoid face, he also wanted to preserve the iconic features of Ultron's visage. The first and last set of photos are basically the concept versions of what ended up being the final design (love how his face flares up) while the rest are the different ideas that the various artists came up with.
