I'm going to photoshop that pic in the morning and make it look better, just to soothe my achy breaky heart:rotfl
Gimme the real Ultron Prime please :thud:

Would have loved to get this expression as a portrait as that is really the definitive expression of this character to me.

I guess I'll just wait and see what the final production version would be. lol.

Which part? The open mouth or closed? Or a mouth that opens? With cheeks that open..

I should have posted an img instead of a gif :lol

I'm referring to his look mid-gif to the end when he brings chin down, furrows his eyebrows and sharpens his focus. Slight open mouth preferred so one that opens would be optimal I guess so you could choose how wide :lol

Ah. Yea that's a very cool look.

I suppose I'm rare, I'm pretty content with any expression. I don't really have a preference. In fact I like it better when someone else is making their choices. The only thing with ultron I would have used if I where doing the work and paying the money is articulated face. Or swap out sculpts. But since I'm not footing the bill..I'm happy with what they want to make.

Articulated face would be neat, probably a headache to design and fragile as hell though. Alternate portraits would've been great.

Yea it would be a beast for engineering. Lol you'd need to do gears probably to make it sturdy enough and that's just a pain. Alt head would be smarter. And easier. Lol

But both would eat into margins significantly. 3-7% min. Which sounds small but it's not.

So like I said, I'm happy to get whatever. Becuase if they where not making such good stuff I may never get any of these.

This expression is THE expression. The problem with what HT has done isn't that they got the expression wrong but more that they failed to capture the ferocity of the character. He doesn't look menacing. In AOU the character oozes menace in pretty much every frame, even when he's cracking jokes. The eyes are dull in HT's prototype. They're supposed to be fearless.

Its not a case of HT not knowing which look to adapt. There was one consistent look throughout the film for Prime and its that commanding scowl HT failed to capture.

I thought he came off as childish and whiney half the time. Maybe crazy. Menacing..not so much. Screaming "stop it"...like a five year old telling mom brothers hitting him on the truck fighting cap. The "dead eyes" is a function of light.

And the commanding scowl...look close with better lights. Looks more like bad lip injections not something commanding. Like one of those 50 something Valley girls with to much money and plastic surgery....

He's so angry because he SO wants to be PRETTY!!!!! I kid I kid

Ultron IS childish and whiny though. He's always been like that in the comics as well. I wrote a long post about Ultrons character in the movie back when it came out and they did a pretty damn good job with him. The only difference is that he was just more quippy.

I love Ultron, but there's no denying that he's immature in his reasoning even with all the knowledge he has (which I absolutely loved, mind you!).

Spader even characterized him as pseudo-14 year old boy while portraying the character...

I saw on Facebook someone said "That's not Ultron, it's a Spader/Stark bot".

He was too quippy, and the design is terrible. Akin to them giving Cap a camo outfit instead of his red, white and blue.

Couldn't disagree more. Prime's design in AOU, to me, surpasses anything from the books.

i took this from the aou art book. i think HT captured the look of ultron prime pretty close!

Ehh that sounds a bit much. The movie design still manages to capture the spirit of his unique visage while taking some pretty neat liberties with the design. Also, unlike your jarring comparison, he's still silver and red.

It's personally one of most favorite Ultron designs to date alongside his recent appearance in Rage Of Ultron (which was an awesome book by the way).

Agreed on ROU. You sir, have good taste.

BTW, did you hear about Disney casting for the Magus in INFINITY WARS?
