Good enough for me can't wait to have it on my shelf.
I'm okay enough with it myself since it still looks like Ultron Prime even if it's based on an older render.

Funny thing is, people were mentioning before how the Empire cover should have been what HT was aiming for in terms of the sculpt, and yet I kept pointing out how it had certain details wrong when compared to screencaps. Then when HT shifted towards designing their figure after that, the full render came out, only to reveal that the model used in the cover was actually inaccurate to the film version.

From only needing to fix the head and neck, now we have the problem of the chest area, no thanks to that damn Empire magazine cover. People really ought to be careful of what they wish for. :lol

Its upsetting that they couldn't capture the ferocity of the design.

Which version. If you want full final cut iconic scene looks plan to wait for 18 months after a film hits theaters before you see a proto. Hot toys can only match the accuracy to the source material they are given. And what they got was an earlier version.

Can't have it both ways. It's either wait for two plus years after a film hits theaters for in hand product (for larger items and more unique items that could be much longer)or understand they may not have the final design to go off.

And remember that a total cgi character will not always fully translate to 3d design. Most figures are not 100% accurate.

Well with the movie out now, pretty sure they can still tweak the figure can't they? It's a prototype. Is it too much to ask for a 99% accurate figure?

It depends on a lot of things. If it was already approved for production then no they can't. It just depends on where they are in the process, how much these "tweaks" will cost and the degree of alterations(there's some legal crap about altered items after it goes on sale...they can do it, but it also always any PO items to be canceled no questions asked even by distributor and retailer).

There's a lot of factors that even hot toys has no control over.

Wanting a 100% and expecting it are two unique issues. I'd love to see them make them closer to screen accurate. But then you gotta know what scene. Becuase even in a final cut of a film a CG character will have several unique and often different renders. Not every scene gets the full updated looks and whatnot so then you can have a head that is accurate to one section but not another. This happens all the time. There where at least three unique renders in Aou that I caught while watching. So there's just no way to be 100 % accurate.

And I'm not referring to three iterations of the character, not sentry/prime/ultimate. But three versions of prime.

And u get the same effect with phys actors and costumes. There's stunts suits and close up suits and adjustments and wear. Changes.

Its not too much to ask for. 100% accuracy isn't too much to ask for either.

100% to what? If the film has multiple variations what exactly is 100% accuracy to? Stunt doubles, CG, CG prac blends, prac suits, early renders, adjusted renders, fake lighting, natural light, multiple artists, hero suits, there are so many variations of the "same" iteration of a character on film it's not possible to be 100% accurate.

The thing is, it comes down to what reference materials they are given months ahead of the film release. If they waited to see the final design in the movie before even starting on the prototype, we wouldn't get figures for another 2 or 3 years. Some might be keen to wait, but not all. Hulkbuster would be a 2018 release.

Yeah, that was part of my initial point. People blame hot toys for things they have no control over

Man I think it looks cool. Ten years ago never would have thought we would get such great figures for under a grand
