I pay ca tax so it's not really a blessing ...

How does payments by CA tax make a difference? The rewards points are still an added bonus they don't have to provide that gives essentially free money. Paying tax happens if they give you points or not.

Thats why I don't buy from Sideshow. I'm in CA and the sales tax cancels out the reward points. The bad thing is I never buy EX versions of HT since I get them from BBTS or ebay but I do get OK deals from ebay, especially when some of the toy stores(like kokomo toys) do presales. I bought AoU BW for $200 shipped compared to the $246 shipped(without packout) Sideshow would charge me and I'll probably find something similar for Hawkeye and the other lesser figures from AoU.

It's cheaper to buy non exclusive stuff bbts and alter ego. I only buy exclusives from SS . Sometimes, I buy regular releases because the promo code, rewards points and flat shipping rate with be about the same .

Even if they get cancelled out...they are still a plus. Taxes are a law. Nothing sideshow can do about that. Rewards points are a perk they give away and they do not have to. If you go to a store in CA and they have a 9% sale are you saying no, becuase you have to pay taxes? They are two seperate things.

These are not everyday items but niche products I am able to buy elsewhere tax free. I can essentially buy from BBTS or others and put away the tax I would have paid in a savings account as my "rewards" points and still get a free packout. Other than that I don't really get what your debating, it's kinda human nature in a capitalist society to go with the better deal and for me, Sideshow with tax and a $10 packout despite the Rewards points is not the better deal.

I agree. Smart Californians should only buy the exclusives they need directly. Otherwise it's much cheaper to shop elsewhere.
