His death actually made sense to me. I hated how he was killed off so quickly, but in the context of what was happening it made sense.

Hawkeye and the boy had to have weighed close to 300 pounds together (maybe 275?), so they were too heavy to be carried by Quicksilver, who was used to carrying his sister who weighs half that. So, he might not have been physically able to carry them both out of the way. Maybe he could have, but it still might have been difficult to secure two people in his arms and run away in time to avoid a wall of bullets.

Quicksilver could have tackled Hawkeye and the boy out of the way, but that would have risked injury to the boy. If it had just been Hawkeye though, I'm certain Quicksilver would have tackled him out of the way.

Like Motux said, I imagine it's hard to catch bullets being fired at the speed and firing rate of an aircraft-mounted machine gun, even for a speedster. Sure, he intercepted the bullet from Klaw's sidearm (and then unloaded the whole magazine...really cool scene btw), but that was a single round with a slower muzzle velocity.

That left just one option. Human shield.

Actually he pushed a car into their path to block the shots. Much heavier than carrying both away. Really silly death. Could have been done way better. But just goes to show what a let down the movie was and how lame Ultron was.

They where subsonic rounds coming hundreds a minute. To "catch" them all he would have to be moving much much much faster then the speed of sound. This wasn't a single hand gun bullet, or five. I'm not a math wiz but to catch them all(he could run away but then Hawkeye dies...or avoid them all would be impossible short of near light speed at best. He didn't appear to be anywhere near that fast.

And he was protecting Hawkeye and those kids. And he may not be dead. You never know.

crap time to cancel my pre-order and go into long term wait for CW Hawkeye, it looks a liltle, little too epic, must have, like now, crap common Hot Toys lets get production going we know what they look like.

Love when these threads go into long winded discussions about real world physics and implications of scifi characters and their superpowers and why they do or don't make sense.... LOL

I love how so many people are going to cancel a figure based on a figure which isn't confirmed yet which is at least two years away...

Bah, I wish PayPal and Popcultcha would hurry up and process my payment.. :gah:

If they use the same timetable as the AoU figures, some of them should start going on pre-order in January.

That's a man-sized if, though.

The Megatron bust that I prepaid for and which arrived instock on the same day as the Hawkeye at Popcultcha has been 'shipped' (but not yet received by Aust Post), but three other orders paid by Paypal before lunch on that day (Thursday) haven't been updated as of yet for me.

Well, if they have the words Iron and Man somewhere attached to them, you can guarantee the release of the figure will be 12 months after the pre-order... And that's just the Mk46... The inevitable Mk47 won't be announced until closer to the movie (or after it) to keep it's existence and design under wraps..

Why, what's wrong with this one that changed your mind?

AOU version looks great and I love the new features for him and Widow but the way they look in CW looks more iconic and prefer them overall, so far the art is very close to what we will see in the film. Im not in a rush to finish my avengers line, I still need a new Captain (ruined my AOU), wouldnt mind a new Ironman (I got mk 7), My Hulk has a few paint problems (time to buy AOU), fairly happy with my Widow (WS with Avengers head/hair swap), Nick Fury (want the new WS head and jacket) Phil Coulson (replaced clothing with a poptoys suit, way better tailoring now).

Current Pre-orders: Maria Hill, and Scarlet Witch, Hulk
Future Pre-orders: Civil War: Iron man, War machine, hawkeye, Captain, Black Widow, Carter, Falcon (all based upon availability)

It would've been better to show some pics but I had to box the collection up for house renovations. I just got back yesterday, now that my shelves are empty its time for a change in lighting and spacing.
