An awesome package for sure that puts the Sideshow Xwing Pilot Luke to absolute shame in terms of value for money!

Still, the HT figure is close, but not perfect due to one important thing - stay tuned for the vid review for full thoughts :)

I'd be careful with the stormtrooper belt. The one that came with my Stormtrooper left some black stains on my stormtrooper's armor.

I knew it all along. :lol

This is GOOD news for all DX07'ers. Can't wait to swap mine out and have a BD Besbin Luke with light up sabre!

Just incase anyone wanted to know I tried the Skywalker arm on my DX07 and it fits!

Sorry for the poor picture

I can't tell but did HTs give us plastic leg wrappings? If so I might have to switch them out for SS' cloth wrappings.

Here's my look at the new Hot Toys Luke Skywalker figure. As an overall package, it totally puts to shame the recent Sideshow Pilot Luke in terms of value for money! Comes with an awesome array of accessories.

But I still think the head sculpt is not as accurate as it could have been, and isn't even as good as the picture on the box art! But I do a comparison with the Sideshow Pilot Luke head sculpt too.

Hopefully you can check it out :)

You mean the leather gun holster?

Yeah.

I haven't tried getting rid of it, but I'm sure it could wipe off the plastic armor easily. The cloth on Luke not so much. Not sure if all of the holsters on the Stormtrooper belt are like that though.

I'd be willing to bet that 99% of the perceived head sculpt issues were noting have just about everything to do with JC Hong vs Factory. Few sculpts are perfect, so you always have to work with the light and the best camera or display angle to compliment, but it's incredible how much the final paint app can make or break an already great sculpt.

For Farmboy, the Hong paint master was nothing short of breath taking. You can get there with the production sculpt too, you've just got to work a bit harder...

Thanks for posting the review khai, excited to get this one soon. Any chance you or anyone else could let me know if the sideshow x wing head properly fits inside the training helmet? Eventually I want to put a hot toys head on the pilot and wouldn't have any other use for the ssc head.

No the grappling hook isn't designed to be removed from the belt.

That's weird because I could have sworn on a recent video review posted about the Stormtrooper Luke I saw video where not only it was removed from the belt, but the cord pulls out some and there is a dial on the bottom that winds it back. I would have assumed it was the same exact belt on this figure. I'll see if I can find the video.

Go to 1:17 of the video and you can see the grappling hook and how it works. It comes off the belt and the cord can come out and be wound back...

Why it wouldn't be the same on the Farmboy Stormtrooper belt I have no idea.

Edit: :lol watch carefully and you will notice that part of the grappling hook falls off his - hope it's something that goes right back on and isn't something that breaks to easily.

Right. I guess someone did remove it, but it does state in the instruction booklet not to remove it.

well, in the video it did look like it might have broke. Hard to tell. I wonder if its the same in the Stormtropper Luke instructions?

Maybe the intended it to work in the original design and prototype but had trouble with it breaking so they decided to tell people in the instructions it can't be removed.

Weird. So the hook is removable but falls apart.

And there's a dial underneath to wind the string back up but it doesn't seem to work either. WTH...?

Would be awesome if it worked. But I think tit should at least work the way they SHOW IT in the HT official pics for the BONUS EX -- they show an open grappling hook.

Yeah.

Just checked mine, the holster is just 'floating' and theres little to minimal contact to the the armour.

It can't be wiped, as the dye of the leather has transferred to the armour parts. You can maybe bleach or dye it again, but the color won't be uniform with the rest of the other armour parts.

Ah, oh well. To be honest it doesn't bug me much anyway, since the stain is on his back. I'm definitely not going to use the stormtrooper belt on Luke now though.
