Wonder how extravagant we could get, this would be cool

The only way to get the orange dotted path would be to paint that on permanently, as only one colour can be refracted through the acrylic. The brighter lines just need to be engraved deeper to allow more light, with the fainter stars being lightly etched in the surface. Doable I reckon and the machines are relatively cheap to buy off ebay.

I had one made up for my football team recently for my other collecting achilles heel. Not SW but gives you an idea of how detailed you can engrave.

Wonder how extravagant we could get, this would be cool

It would actually be very cool if you stack 3 together;

1 - large starfield map in blue missing the piece
2 - route and waypoints in orange
3 - missing piece of the map in blue

The separation would also create some perspective to show the missing piece almost slotted in. Might also want to add a blank between 2 and 3 for extra separation.

I think you would need three separate LED bases to minimize the light leakage and then build a base that covers all three so it looks like one unit.

Just an idea.

Just got a custom backdrop for Leia from Stoney's Stands on FB. Need to build a black base for it like the one in the movie and to get it closer to the correct height. It was undersized on purpose to fit easily in the detolf and still also work with the 7" LED bases.

Yeah, would be cool if someone was able to 3D print the console for the Hoth tactical screen to go with. Would make for a pretty great display.

That looks fantastic!

And I don't know how intentional it was, but I can't help but see two eyes and a smiley face staring back at me on her left forearm. As if the figure needed an extra seal of approval.

I was going to try for that route originally by quickly saw that it wasn't going to work. Its actually hair that I glued on and then used the braid from the Hasbro Leia to complete the look. After I took off the hair buns I was sad to find out that she didn't have ears underneath so I had to shave down the sides of the head where the buns were and then get some ears off another head that I had. Then I had to also shave back the hairline. Here's what it looked like after I started gluing the hair on.
