The mysteries of Star Wars #57139

I wonder if the Troopers strip searched her before or after they stunned her.

This might wake things up.

Is that a custom or an upcoming unlicensed fig?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

An upcoming unlicensed piece of crap. :lol

Tiny generic head. Cheap ex-Hasbro parts. And too well endowed for the intended subject.

The Mouse ought to give this thing a merciful death.

This must be Leia's long-lost Amazonian doppelganger!

No, none of that is Hasbro. Maybe from the GG statue? The vibro axe (visible in the other pics I found) might be a recast of the GG bust though.

I just don't know how those bodies hold up though if you pose them with arms/knees bent fairly sharply.

Looking at side by sides, you're right. But the 'metal' parts look as cheap as the Hasbro.

It depends which body they've used.

If it's the new, cheaper Jodoll / Jiaoudoll body then some of those started to deteriorate almost immediately:

Word of warning. The skin on mine is peeling!

Also some tiny blisters appearing on arms.

I was searching through some reviews, and some people experienced tears when the limbs of the body is posed in certain positions for a prolonged period of time (1-2 days). I wonder if anyone encountered this.

Sadly, I've got to confirm. I left my Jiaodoll doing a split/situp for a few days, and this morning, saw this:

(Note, in both images she's on her back, head away from the camera. I've cropped the pictures for "decency," but her girlie-parts are just past the left edge of the frame in both pictures.)

Well, if anyone's looking to make a cosplayer version of Slave Leia, it's $66 at OSK without a body.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

It's amazing that these Phicen type bodies still just can't seem to be durable enough. You'd think a few years after the first ones were released, these types of issues would have disappeared in the newer bodies. I know that body shown isn't a Phicen, but I've seen similar pics of slightly older Phicens with the same tears and peels. Even somewhat newer seamless arms/torso HT bodies have issues.

Just seems crazy to pay $60-90 for a body that's useless only a few months later. My guess is we're going to have to put up with visible joints for a few more years until this issue is resolved.

Bottom line is that if you buy these types of bodies, don't put them in even moderately stressed poses - like ever. Just keep arms and legs fairly straight.

The only thing I like about that KO is the boots. The rest is throwaway.

Did Tony Mei decide not to do the Leia dress after all?

Spoke to Tony about 4 days ago - he said it was still happening and that he won't announce anything though until he's completely satisfied with the final product.

100% getting it!!!
