She completed the principle filming in ep8, so ep7 won't be her last appearance.

Since it seems like she would've been in Ep. IX, I wonder if she'll get the "Paul Walker" treatment at the end of VIII. Or maybe, they'll do like Rogue One and CGI her in IX for a few scenes to wrap up Leia's story in the saga?

The hype for Episode VIII will definitely be kicked up a notch now. Not like that movie would've needed it, but still.

Portman was 16 in TPM. 19 in AOTC.

18 when the movie was released, so naturally a little younger during photography. Padme was 14 in the movie. They have to counter somehow that it AOTC she is a love interest to a character played by a little kid in TPM, even though it was the same actress in all three movies, lol..

Started my ANH collection with Han last week. Luke was going to be my next figure, then Leia. But after the very sad news today and seeing her figure going low in stock I decided to get it before it went on waitlist. This news has been a real dampener today.

Buying a figure to honor a person isn't in my books. I don't know, but are you guys serious? Why the sudden love for Carrie Fisher?

My sentiments as well.

As I mentioned before, this figure has been out for what, roughly 8-9 months now and was still plentiful? To me, if you otherwise had little to no intentions of getting the figure and it takes the actor or actress passing to inspire you to now go in a frenzy trying to acquire it, I don't know, it just seems to me like you probably didn't really want it that bad to begin with. Don't get it simply because you think you're honoring that person's memory or somehow paying tribute to their passing by doing so. For me personally, if I didn't want the figure then, the actor or actress passing isn't going to suddenly make me desperately want it now.

Found this gif posted in another thread by Golden Boy. Had to share.

There it is. Knew one of these was bound to pop up sooner or later. :lol

Considering the commotion, I'm gonna guess that General Leia from either Episode VII or VIII will sell quicker than Resistance Rey.. Hot Toys would seem to be silly if they didn't release one.

I bought the part 4 Leia when it first went for pre-sale and if they make a General Leia, I'll buy that 1 too. In fact, I'll buy Leia in any outfit from parts 4-7 that comes out. Why are you guys being so critical about anybody else's motivation to buy her figure now cause she passed. Don't question or analyze anybody's reason for wanting to acquire this part 4 figure. It's not your money, they're spending. Sheez. :slap

Seriously:lol Who really cares and why would you get so worked up over it?:dunno

I bought this from Hong Kong the day the figure came out; just recently I was thinking of getting another for a custom, I Ummed and ahhed about it for a while until I heard the terrible news before Christmas. Decided to get it yesterday because it was obvious her death would affect prices in some way, and the price started shooting up as soon as the news broke. I think a lot of people aren't scalpers nor are they buying out of sentiment but are folks who have been on the fence for a while, thought they had forever to get it, and then suddenly found they had to buy in a hurry if they wanted this at a reasonable price. One good thing about this is that down the line a lot f collectors will find they didn't really want this and unload them on eBay, thereby bringing the price down for anyone who genuinely wants this to enjoy on their shelf. So a lot of scalpers will get burned, including the ones who put it on for ridiculous prices. And that's as it should be because profiting from someone's death is distasteful.

I wonder how her death will affect future releases? It'll be down to her family then presumably.

I wouldn't think so, Carrie has talked in numerous interviews about how Lucasfilm and Disney own her likeness and can do whatever they want with it.

I don't think it's people wanting it, no issue with that, but more so wanting to capitalize on her passing and selling her merchandise for inflated values, it just seems disgraceful or distasteful perhaps especially when it happened so recently, but what can we do I guess. Just sad to see.

Aside from that, I would definitely love a TFA General Leia to go with TFA Han and Luke. I wouldn't mind her Hoth look, loved her hairstyle in that, and an Endor outfit is a nice "Rebel" Leia look. I heard she was supposed to be in Episode IX too. RIP.
