I guess I don't think it was ridiculous to put leia into the slave outfit considering the context of the situation. I mean she was a sexy as hell intruder captured inside the palace of an infamous scoundrel:dunno. Personally I don't think any less of Leia the heroein because of the outfit, its far from the only time I have seen a woman I admire in hot looking attire.

Considering she literally strangled Jabba to death with the chain keeping her captive

Not sure why people think her slave outfit was ridiculous.

Like TFH mentioned, considering the context of the situation, it made sense. She was an attractive intruder that was made to be a slave in the palace of an infamous scoundrel. I mean if say you were having a party with your buds and you hired attractive women to serve you drinks and food for the evening at your calling, would you request that they wear robes that cover up as much as possible?

I think George was taking inspiration from the Sinbad films.

The problem isn't the context, it's that Lucas put the character in such a situation to begin with, and contrived a situation where Leia ended up being held prisoner in a skimpy outfit with a chain around her neck.

I don't know if Jabba having a sexy harram was contrived. Remember Oola and other women were captured and held as well as *** objects. Part of Jabba playing with people. GL made Jabba a slave owner, which for him was probably as vile as it gets. It wasn't just Hey check it, she's actually sexy under all this Bousch armor...Bikini her now!

$300 stand-in is funny.

ESB Vader should be upon us by SDCC. RO Vader will be long sold out and delivered by then.

Unless of course Sideshow is going to take another crack at Vader this year.

Right now I'm wondering where the Snowtroopers, Death Star Troopers, Gunners and GONKs are? Did poor sales nuke some of these?

I feel like they're saving a good chunk of new stuff for Star Wars Celebration Orlando, it's the 40th Anniversary for Star Wars. So Hoping they go all out.

When is that? I hope you're right. Otherwise, HT is piling up a lot of stuff to ever get delivered in 2017.

Freaky to think I won't have HT ESB Vader until mid-2018.

I don't really see anything wrong with Slave Leia either. Would it be politically correct today in a family movie? No, of course not. But mind you that movie is from 1983. I'ts 33 years old. It's from an era where things weren't as taboo, where everything that wasn't agreed with was under scrutiny or social media backlash, there wasn't today's worry of political correctness and offending a very small percentage of people... I could go on and on. Very different times back then. It's silly to complain about it today. It's a huge part of pop culture around the world. It's never gonna go away, nor should it.

If you want it to go away there's only 2 real choices. Remake the movie, or do a new politically/morally correct version and digitaly alter the scenes putting her in a more "appropriate" slave outfit. No thanks. I don't think anyone wants either of those! It's only a topic because Star Wars is now a Disney property. And Disney is a family/children oriented company and Star Wars is back in the spotlight more than ever.

Besides, maybe Princess Leia chose that oufit. Maybe Jabba had 15 or 20 outfits laying on a nice silk bed and that's the one she chose. It's our imagination that makes it seem wrong, not the outfit or portrayal itself. We all have dirty minds... :lol

No, it's a topic now because we have since learned how humiliating the shoot was for Fisher and how she'd implored Ridley to fight against what she wished she had at the time.

Nerds and their "context"... meanwhile, in real life...

It's over Easter weekend, April 13-16. I'm attending so I'll try to put picks up along the way.
