Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

I think when Leia goes up for order I'll do the same as I did with Luke and full pay her with PayPal. Makes it easier to take care of one right away and its not like Sideshow is some eBay seller who will screw me over.

Really looking forward for this Leia figure. Personally, I think all of the Hot Toys Star Wars figs are awesome looking, maybe except for the snout and giant forehead on Chewbacca.

Just keep in mind that you'll only be able to use PayPal if it's fixed/flat shipping (like $10 or "free") - if shipping is "unknown" it means they'll do zone-based and their system won't allow PayPal until the item is in stock and they can calculate an exact dollar figure.

Ah true, forgot about that.

Ah true, forgot about that.

I only use PayPal for online purchases in USD, so this is a huge hassle on Sideshow's site when things are backordered or shipping in small amounts but still listed as "Pre-Order" - like R2. They also can't (won't) take PayPal for Wait-List items, even though they send you a notice well before they try to bill you. That's how I missed Boba Fett - but it worked out for me because I picked him up the following month for $90 less. ;)

Well, Pepper Potts, who comes with basic clothing, hands, stand, one Iron Man arm, and a. . .document of some kind is $225. Prepare for more of the same with Leia.

On the bright side, it looks like this figure won't be a Tootsie Pop-figured zombie with straw sticking out of its head.

Seeing how nice this turned out, I can only imagine how great a Ceremonial Leia from HT might look. I wonder if there's any chance in hell we might see one?

depending on how well this sells, I guess. At $220 for a basic figure like this, I really dunno

I can imagine quite a bit.

Guess I'll have to hang on to my Sideshow Leia handcuffs.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

I don't know, with the way Han got tweaked (in my opinion for the worse), part of me is kinda hoping they don't do anything more with this. I could easily be happy with the figure as it is now, and who knows what the updated version may look like.
Yep, I later rescinded those comments, too, but in another thread (forget where it came up). :lol Agreed, this sculpt is as good as we're going to get and is probably the best yet of any of the characters. Also hoping HT doesn't make any changes at all. Love this sculpt now that we've seen really great shots of it.

That and whichever actor is portraying their Han Solo.. :p

Hmmm...Leia cheaper than Pepper?

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

I could see her being cheaper. A lot of the Star Wars figures haven't been terribly high. Obi-Wan and all the Troopers have been under $220. The more expensive ones in the line sort of make sense as to why they're priced higher (popularity of the character, complexity of manufacturing, etc.). Leia is pretty basic so I can see her around $220.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

Im sure Leia will cost the same as Luke since they added a background for the lack of accessories and completely forgot the computer disc for R2

What *is* that background piece anyway? Some random chunk of the Death Star interior? Binders and/or stolen datatapes woulda been much cooler.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

Pfffftttt looks like I'll have to start buying direct from China on this stuff too. $1280HKD = $165USD. Those are quite the markups SSC!!!!

Makes sense. A rooted hair head is more expensive to manufacture than a sculpted head. But 100 HKD is only about 13 USD. . . so maybe $209.99?
