LOL. Cocaine, it's a hell of a drug!

HT paint apps are generally excellent.

What am I missing here with that above skeptical dig?

Apparently when one figure comes out below par then all of them will be like this. You know, forget all about the other recently released figures like RoboCop/Murphy and everything else lol.

I thought the Commando figure was more a case of an average likeness, not a paint issue.

Is that what DrHyperbolegood really means?

Well the proto to finished product differed massively with ole Commando. I know there will be differences from proto to production, but there's normally not such a massive divide, the sculpt changed and the paint looked weak. It has marred my faith in hot toys a bit to be honest, so excuse my cynicism. I have always argued the positives and the current paint applications as being fantastic. I think Matrix might of just been a bump in the road, and yes the Robocop BD and Murphy is fantastic!

With the price so high in regards to the amount of accessories, I can't see any value in this figure being parted out. Which is a shame because I was hoping to be able to just pick up bits and pieces.

Probably not. Don't know how much female bodies sell for :) but all the value is in the head sculpt on this one. Hope final version looks just like this.

Oh oh, mirrored reference photos - could be a contributor to some of the "off-ness" we've seen in many sculpts.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

Yeah, I was wondering about that, too, when I saw what was on the monitor.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

It's also obvious from a lot of sculpts, not necessarily this one, that the sculptors don't consult the movie. IMO, one should always have the source material on hand, at the very least a collection of original scenes that can be played back at any time.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

I could see many collectors losing their s--t if a sculpt were asymmetrical in spite of it being more natural.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys - MMS298 - Star Wars: Episode IV - Leia Organa Collectible Figure

Doubt it. They are probably flipping back and forth between a portrait shot and the mirrored version so the asymmetrical differences on a person's face / head become more apparent and the sculptor can more easily see what the differences are, I'm guessing.
