I have my doubts we'd see another War Machine. I think there is even doubt there may be another standalone Iron Man film. We increasing number of superheroes...having War Machine on the sidelines after Rhodes being paralyzed makes sense.

I suppose that's somewhat of a relief for my wallet...

And I'm a big fan of both the War Machine James Rhodes and Don Cheadle. I personally would have loved to have seen more of him in IM2, Age of Ultron and Civil War. But I would rather see the character retire from the WM as it kinda heightens the stakes a bit of being a hero and also to make room for the other heroes that will be added to the upcoming films.

Also, like RDJ, maybe Cheadle is a bit done with making the hero movies. Who knows?

So a question about the figure...
Does anyone know if there is a way to holster the power baton?

According to this, he is in contract for "several" films though he can't comment. Who knows if Cheadle will reprise his role.

I actually believe we will indeed see Don Cheadle reprise the James Rhodes character yet again. Especially that the next film would probably wrap up some of Civil Wars plot...I just don't know if we will see the "War Machine" again.

My guess is that he'll be in IW and that he'll still be disabled BUT be fully functional once inside the WM armor. Almost like the Avatar guy.

I agree, that was my first thought.

I'm pretty sure most of us knew that there wouldn't be another stand alone iron man movie. But there's no reason we won't see him in the next two avengers movies.

Plus, I don't think they would show us him rehabbing with tony and cracking jokes at the end of civil war if they hadn't planned on him returning as rhodey/war machine.

Yea I could def see your points. It would definetly be great to see him back in the saddle.

Civil War was a movie where he probably had a bigger influence and role than the next movies to come out. The whole "hero registration" and the fact he is a part of the government via Air Force. If the suit is in the next Avengers instalments, I think it would be a very small part (even smaller than Age Of Ultron). Adding in the new heroes and blending it hopefully with Guardians of the Galaxy...I just don't see how WM could be anything but a limited cameo role.

And I know everyone will hate me for this...but I also hope we see IM also take a back seat or at least share the screen time in the next films. Both Avengers films focussed a lot on Tony and while he is a fan favorite (mine as well), I'd just like to see it be bigger than Tony Stark and Iron Man (and yes War Machine as well). Personally I'd love to see Adam Warlock, Silver Surfer added into the fray (also the Xmen, tho that won't happen). Basically War Machine would be low on my list of characters to appear in the Infinity War films.

That being said...I do appreciate each of your opinions and I think we can all agree that Marvel is building to an awesome climax.

I would still like to see iron man play a more pivotal role, especially considering these will probably be his final movies.

I think war machine will have as much of a role in infinity war as he had in civil war. I imagine they're going to need all the help they can get.

Lastly, I imagine if there is going to be a huge war, I would think the Air Force would be involved in some way.

Again all good points. We will see how it pans out eventually. Just like we will see how this amazing figure will pan out. Hope we get a reveal soon.

Man, I'd been eyeing this one very tentatively on Sideshow, thinking I'd have until he released to decide, but he's already Waitlisted! Yeesh. Collecting waits for nobody, apparently.

Wow waitlisted! I really thought with the Mark 1 out as well it may last longer. Anyways...the War Machines are extremely well built and you get the most Diecast in them. I got mine from HK...stopped buying from SS since it cost me more in shipping. I'm in Canada

I imagine it will sell out there pretty soon as well.

Possibly. As soon as the Mk1 waitlisted on SS I PO'd it from BBTS thinking it would be gone really soon. Still available now so I'd imagine the Mk1 would sell out first, then the Mk3. That would be my guess anyway. But I'm really surprised the Mk3 is on WL. I had no doubt that the it would still be available up until and beyond its release. Maybe HT is just making less since the AoU WM did poorly?

I think that is due to the in-hand reviews of the Mark 1 War Machine... that figure turned out so good (elbows not withstanding), that there would be very high hopes and expectations for this figure. If articulation and diecast content is the same on this one, it's gonna be a great piece!
