Its a gamble? More like, its a guarantee. You think they will make multiple Hawkeyes, but not a new Deadpool? Psshh, please.

It's a gamble to count on HT to make another DP, especially if the suit doesn't change. And I'm not sure it would. Plus they may be focusing on Infinty War stuff, which is likely to get more attention.
Not to mention Star Wars VIII

They didnt acquired the license to just produce 1 DP. This is HT we are talking about. If the suit is the same (which i doubt it would. They'll will have atleast minor changes. Its comic book movie. Toys sell) ,
HT could still come out with movie promo, variants etc.
But i'm more excited to see other characters to be made.

There were people that said matter of factly that HT would never make Deadpool to begin with.

Whoaaa i will never trust any facts in the forum until the figure is out. Just like its a fact that HT would never re-released other ironman in diecast. :lol

It's important to keep in mind that this forum is made up of random people across the world. Bring lots of salt with you.

The only time I take these forums seriously is when money is involved.

If you're selling me something in mint condition, it better be damn well mint.

This is waitlisted? And sold out on BBTS. They would make an identical suit if nothing changes in DP 2.

This is true. The ONLY case I can think of is where they haven't announce a version of Vision in Civil War.

it's been a long long time since I've seen something sell out in PO. The price on eBay has already gone up by say $120 over retailer. It's your risk to run if they don't make another one. If you're wrong, you won't have it at all, or you'll be paying say $450 in another year.

He's a one off figure (as opposed to a line, like Star Wars or ironman); it's a niche (albeit popular) movie that doesn't get the mainstream attention of the avengers, for example; his suit doesn't really change which is a disincentive to make another figure; HT's attention has been focused on ironman and Star Wars (more of which are coming).

so im still comfortable saying that HT re releasing this is a gamble. It's not a certainty. But obviously everyone can make up their own minds.

the way i see it.. if it starts ripping or tearing.. it'll suck, but oh well, i'm sure i could fix it or mod it. but i'd rather take the risk than not pick it up because i'm worried that something might be wrong with it.

at least i (we) know the potential problem and will be extra careful when posing it.

in all likelihood, we'll see another deadpool to accompany the next movie. so, for me, worse comes to worse, it'll act as a placeholder for the next one.

i'm still very excited for this.

also, i'm curious, does the figure have standard or ratcheting joints? i'm generally not a big fan of ratchets, but i think they've worked quite well on some of the iron man armors.

Hot Toys has quietly decreased their production numbers the past few years as they've increased their price with a "standard" figure now pushing over $200. When I first started collecting Hot Toys, their standard figure price was around $120 (the original Superman Returns and Batman Begins figures) with some slightly more expensive ones at $150 (the original AVP Predators). So it's safe to say that the Deadpool production numbers greatly underestimated the demand for this figure and Hot Toys might not budge on making another batch unless they're feeling uber-generous. That's just their standard practice now since we've seen Hot Toys warming shelves like they hadn't done so in the past, thanks in part to their price increase.

This is the "definitive" 1/6-scale Deadpool. Even more so than Sideshow's, so it's naturally selling out everywhere, even with those fans that aren't necessarily Hot Toys collectors.

I miss the days when Deadpool was more of an underground character, rather than mainstream... My Deadpool collection felt more personal and special to me then. It feels sort of like when Metallica went mainstream. I still enjoyed them, but it was never the same.

Its all in your head. Its still the same Deadpool. The only thing different is your perception.

Please show proof for your claim that production numbers have decreased.

I don't think there is proof but in the few years i have been collecting i have never seen so many regular popular figures (this, Batman, Superman, WM, etc) go to WL before they even get to SS. So something has changed.

An increased demand is not the same as decreased production numbers.

It does not necessarily mean decreased production numbers.

It can also mean a lot more collectors are moving on up from Marvel Legends to Hot Toys or just a general increase in collector population.

Lets be real with eachother:

1. This figure has a fatal flaw from the factory. By purchasing this figure despite this large flaw you are enabling the manufacture (Hot Toys) to continue this wrong behavior.
2. HT will produce another Deadpool figure, considering the first Deadpool movie broke various records.
3. The exclusivity of Hot Toys has fallen, and will continue to fall as demand rises and production increases.
4. Wait lists can be used to guage genuine interest in a figure, and production can be increased or decreased based on the demand the wait list exhibits.
