Screen accurate wasn’t really what I meant by better figure.

The mk3 is pretty screen accurate. People didn’t like the color, but the mk3 was like five different colors so that’s kinda irrelevant. Ankle articulation was like that on screen. Look at when he works on the substructure of the boots before they are skinned, and then when he does the flight test. Suit was design not to have ankle articulation as it was designed as a flight suit and the thinking was having super powerful rocket jets on the bottom of your feet would break your ankles. They used ski/snowboard boots as inspiration. It’s also been stated that the subsequent suits where intentionally bigger to accomplish more then just flight and get that man in a can look not a guy wearing a suit of armor or padding. So for me, the things that most people dislike on the mk3 are just part of it’s design.

That said, the mk6 is a way better figure. Elbow and knee joints are better. The repulsor hands. Shoulder joints and shoulder pad attachment is better. The inner/under blue LED lights are neat. The stand is better. There’s not really anything the mk3 has that is better, unless you prefer that design.

Engineering, paint, accessories, Battle damage parts, stand, and proportion are all better with the mk6(and yes some of that is the difference in the suit design and has little to do with hot toys)

:goodpost:

This in so many ways. The mark VI is a much better figure in many ways, but also I like the mark 3 and hearing sensible reasons why it is the way it is also makes me forgive its apparent flaws more. Thanks Motux!

I don’t recall if the mk3 has them. But this is one has articulated hand guards so they work and look a bit better then the older ones.

I think this is the first Iron man to have the hand guards move up the arm properly, no? the 45,46 and 47 all had this weird bend to em that made it look like the metal was aluminum foil

Yeah I think you are correct. I’m having a hard time keeping all these things straight in my head. Guess I’m getting old. But I’m pretty sure you are correct. I’ll dig out the boxes later to double check.

Haven’t had much time to play around with him, but I did get a chance for a single pose photo.

I’m really liking this figure so far. However, there was one fault when I got him. I had to glue back on his ab piece, which was a pain.

Is there toe articulation on this figure?

I had to do the exact same thing. I've heard numerous accounts on this thread of others experiencing the same flaw. At least it's simply repaired though, as opposed to a break or deterioration, I suppose.

Does anyone use arcylic cases to display their figures? If so what are you guys using? I have this one on the way but dont have room for a detolf or I would just go that route.

I haven't been able to achieve any real toe articulation.

It’s not much. It’s just a very slight bend. I can post a video if I can figure out how to do it. But it’s really not a ton of movement

Any tips on how to get the bicep plate off? Tried to get it off to install the batteries but couldn’t get them to budge.

The little plastic clear thing can help. I ended up using my nieces fingernail. Well, actually she used it but you get my meaning. I’ve had to use a bit of heat in the past on other figures. Even pressure usually does the trick though.

Is this figure being shipped on Sideshow?

I'm figuring out if I should try and purchase off the Mark V eBay and looking at both price and time to ship.

Also, I'm in Canada.

Yes. Mine arrived from Sideshow about three weeks ago.

Oh ok. Maybe I'll check how much it is to bring it in from Sideshow. I'm still waiting on the VI from an eBay seller.
