Really tempted to sell the 46 and grab the 6 instead. Trying not to have multiples of characters in the line up and the 6 just seems like the 'definitive' suit. If the 46 just had more gold on the biceps and thighs

Yeah the mk6 is pretty amazing. Best iron man so far. Probably best figure so far. Though I’m still awed by the hulkbuster. The mk6 is a beast. But it’s all about personal preference man. The 46 is more streamlined I guess you would call it. Looks less like the iron man idea of a full suit you pilot and more like a guy wearing normal armor if that makes sense. The 45 is bigger with that more streamlined look so it still looks like an iron man suit. But that’s all personal feelings really.

I agree the 46 would look better with more gold, same with the 45.


The six just has so much stuff with it and is a better engineered figure. It’s miles ahead of the plastic mk6 as well.

For some reason my phone pictures do that too, even though on my phone and on my computer they are oriented correctly. It is annoying...

Nice comparison photo's.. Nice to see the height differences with the original plastic figures with the newer DC figures. Still confusing why HT went with the newer larger scale on the more recent DC figures. Doesn't look too bad in your photo's other than the picture with the MK46 & MK3.... yikes. Looks like Iron Boy, Iron Man's young ward & sidekick. Don't know how they released that figure. But it still sucks for people who don't want to upgrade the older original figures. The newer War Machine MK1 makes the original plastic MK6 look tiny, just as having the newer DC Mk6 with the original plastic War Machine Mk1. They look ridiculous together.

Still haven't jumped on a DC Iron Man yet. I like the MK46, but like you said doesn't really convey someone wearing an armored suit. I like the MK6, but prefer the MK4 with the round arc reactor and without the silver. May jump on him eventually, or wait for the MK7. The MK4 & MK7 are still my favorite 2 suits.

I’m looking forward to the mk4 and 7dc as well.

I think they increased the size out of necessity, as the ball joints and lights and all that require more space. And, if it’s bigger or heavier people equate that with quality. So probably multiple reasons. The size difference is really evident in the chest plates.

Yea I just really love the amount of lights they crammed into it all. The 6 definitely looks the most iron man-y of the 2. The 46 has really nice lights in the eyes and the arc reactor that doesn't blind. Does the 6 have that upgrade too or is it the usual bright-LED-in-your-face look??

I think the 6 has similar led to the 46. Though I have not turned them both on together so I’d have to double check. Totally understand the many little lights being a cool point for you. It’s really all about preference and personal style. Either figure is great and both suits are cool so either way you go you win.

I like the 6 better but it’s reallg not by a ton. I really like the 45 a lot. Way more then I anticipated at first seeing it. It’s my second favorite just behind the 6. But the 6 edges out for me because of the classic look and the figure just has so much functionality with the swap out parts.

For me, the 6 beats it by a long shot. I haven't liked how Iron Man has slowing become more organic and sc-fi looking. I love the angular more classic looking suit. Plus later suits loose the balance of red and gold and have become mostly red.

I was going to do that but I had a good think on it. This 6 is here now. It’s gorgously done from paint to proportions. It doesn’t seem to have any QC issues. And it doesn’t have those — to my eye — ridiculous silver thigh plates. Let’s put a big slap of silver right... here!

Needless to say, I broke down and preordered this though I was initially set on the 7.

Add me to the list. Having owned both, I'd go Mk6 and it's not even close. The Mk45 isn't terrible, the Mk6 is that good.

As far as the Mk7, I do love it for what it was, a 3rd act war ready armor. The Mk6 wouldn't have been enough for the Battle of NY. I'm just not a huge fan of the bulky shoulders and thigh missile pods.

Still, I can easily see why it's a fan favorite.

I’ve always liked the 6 over the 7. Even when both where plastic. If the 7 comes out I’ll get it and be happy. It’s a cool armor. But the 6 is my favorite design and it’s part of my two favorite scenes. The reindeer games scene and the cap/Thor/iron man woods fight. Plus throw in the final battle from im2 and the 6 is by far my favorite design. And this figure is pretty amazing and will be hard to top.

And the 7 probably won’t be out for at least a year even if it where announced today.
