Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys: MMS - Avengers: Infinity War - Captain America

I can't recall HT ever revealing a different version of a figure after the initial reveal unless it was a different version of the character (ie. 2 different CW Caps) ... If anything they'll eventually reveal new accessories for Iron Man, it's expensive enough already without a DX version.

Well we never got that Blue Loki :dunno They listen to the herd sometimes

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys: MMS - Avengers: Infinity War - Captain America

So you're saying there won't be any DX versions for the already announced figures? :dunno

They won’t change an already announced release to DX, correct. That doesn’t mean it’s not possible they won’t add a few things later if they feel it’s needed or held back due to spoilers. There have been nearly 600 figures over nearly 15 years and not once have they gone back and changed the title/nature of a release. If it’s announced diecast, it’s diecast. Plastic is plastic. DX is DX. And mms is mms. Once it’s announced that’s what they stay.

Well we never got that Blue Loki :dunno They listen to the herd sometimes

Doubt that had to do with any feedback, as there are plenty of people who would have bought the blue, and more to do with the timing and fact it’s in IW as black. Instead of releasing two Loki figures that are identical except color at the same time as the load of IW, ant-man and wasp, Captain Marvel, black panther, and whatever other marvel films they combined it into one costume and figure to cover both films.

Batman Returns Batman was announced as a DX, came out as an MMS. These are the facts, and they are undisputed.

It was not announced as a DX. You can go to the Sideshow page, the hot toys page, this sites thread and look at the actual announcement and photos(I’ve attached one). Wasn’t a DX mentioned.

It was not announced as a DX.

Initial announcement of the license showed they would be DX figures just as they originally announced Reeve Superman as a DX and came out to be released a MMS

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys: MMS - Avengers: Infinity War - Captain America

That’s not a figure announcement but a license announcement. Not the same thing.

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys: MMS - Avengers: Infinity War - Captain America

Line announcements and actual figure reveals are not the same.

edit: Motu beat me to it haha

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys: MMS - Avengers: Infinity War - Captain America

Yea maybe they intended to release Blue Loki for Ragnarok and Green Loki for Infinity War but decided there wasn't time

Ironically the same happened to Loki already with Thor 1 and Avengers :lol....

I don't need to go anywhere. It was announced as a DX, as in when HT announced the license, it was announcing DX figures, so you don't have to have pics at the ready to prove another board member wrong when they were right, before you start trying to own the board again.

Sorry mate but your wrong. The Batman returns figure was not announced as a DX. Those are in fact facts. They announcement for the license on it had the MMS logo, the DX logo, said 1/6 and said 1/4. So if they release a 1/6 mms that’s not a “change”. If they later release a 1/4 DX that’s also not a change. If they release nothing, that’s not a change to a figure announcement.

Let’s make this clear. Once they start accepting pre orders for an individual figure release they have never altered that figures nomenclature from MMS to DX not from DX to MMS. And that would be a fact.

Given the discussion was about if they would change currently announced and up for order figures (iron man, Thor, thanos, Rocket) to DX at a later date it seems pretty relevant to be specific.

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys: MMS - Avengers: Infinity War - Captain America

Arguing the accuracy of a general line/license announcement doesn't mean nearly as much as when they actually reveal a figure for pre-order... especially when they've barely touched the line they teased. Just because it says DX on the ad, doesn't mean every figure in the line will be DX.

Good to see you've lost that steamroller edge.

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys: MMS - Avengers: Infinity War - Captain America

And come on both 1/6 and 1/4 at the same time

Re: 1/6 - Hot Toys: MMS - Avengers: Infinity War - Captain America

I don't see any of this discussion as trying to take "ownership" of anything on here... If someone has collected these long enough HT's release patterns after the full reveals are fairly obvious and they don't often deviate from it, though they do occasionally surprise us with new things they haven't done before, but that's really never been a sign of an over-all change of the way they do things.

Nobody likes to get their ideas shot down, but there are just some things that are just too outlandish to be expected from HT. Doesn't mean anyone on here is always right, but it really isn't hard to imagine the way things will go after seeing how they've done things for so long.

Hell, even I think it's kinda dumb of me to expect HT to reveal new accessories for IW Iron Man, but there has to be more of a reason than just "Avengers tax" for it to be so expensive.

Yeah I understand, but it's just weird that Thanos the main character of IW, or even Thor (which both will have the most screen time) won't get Deluxe versions... and we will get a Deluxe version for Cap.. I just find it odd, unless they are telling us this may be the last Cap we will see. :dunno
