Yeah I think the DX06 hat is the only upgrade I’d do for this. Good thing I went Deluxe too, it’d probably fit better on it vs the Artisan cattails (imo, lol) head.

A very old pic of my DX15 with the MMS 42 hat. I don’t think it would fit the artisan without some major heating/dremelling. Been meaning to hunt down a Medicom hat but never got around to it. I also have the DX06 hat but it’s just ok.

Dollars. Many, many dollars. Plus Andor S2 will be "jumping time" covering a stretch of 4 years to bring it up to Rogue 1 events. Lots of locations. Introducing K-2SO. And probably lots more fights e.g. many opportunities to milk the customer present consumers with a fascinating variety of characters and looks to choose to enhance their collections.

Meanwhile, I considered canceling my DX, since this is sort of re-hash, but forgot used rewards on him so am getting him "cheap" and I like the base/accessories. I also like the idea of being able to display with the other Jack hat/no hat sword/pistol etc.

I don't think I'm going to buy any extra parts for this though, the prices for some are ridiculous and I don't feel like paying shipping and taxes for small accessories.

Yep. Bein' someone that buys their figs all kinds of extras. Already picked up some loose KO coins for Jack - probably for John Wick originally . Wish I'd bought more 1/6 wooden barrels for displays way back, now even the cost of those went up. Shipping costs have gotten ridiculous. I've probably got enough junk laying around to add more to Jack's hair, if I want.

So the DX15 does look to win on the neutral face, but the smirk is mostly a wash, and that's the expression I prefer, anyway.

Imo, I think DX37/38/39 is in a way better. I do like the intensity of DX15 though.

The new smiling face plate definitely beats out all the other sculpts, and while the DX15's serious face is still strong, it just doesn't capture Jack's character in my opinion. Also worth noting how the eyes are smaller and more natural now, Hot Toys has really perfected SERS over the years.

I don't think you can adjust the bandana at all, it seems like a piece of fabric glued over a plastic cap.

Its a improvement but not by a landmark. The eyes are more convincing to me. The serious face of the dx15 was good but a tad to intens, in a way he sometimes looked more creepy. I think overall its a nice improvement over the Dx06 and Dx15. Especialy with the clothes, base and mainly the Artisian rooted dreads. Glad i took over someone's PO for the Artisian. Sold my mix between the dx06 and dx15 some time ago becouse i knew this one is going to be better. Not by a landmark but it doesnt have to be. The dx15 was that good back in the day, so was the dx06 before that.

Man I'm so jealous of that Jones, very nice display! A sculpted hat would've been a definitive improvement over the enormous pleather one that comes with the DX15 and the new one.

I think what would ultimately sway someone who owns the DX15 to get the new one would be personal taste. I personally prefer the wheel diorama, the smiling face, the coat and belts with better materials of the new version. However, a lot of people prefer the shark base or the serious face from DX15 so they don't really see a reason to upgrade to a version that's only slightly better than the previous one.

The Artisan hair piece with the cloth bandana is the one thing that is undoubtedly better but sadly a lot of us don't have the means or opportunity to get it. At least Hot Toys gave collectors options but if or when they make a new Jack, I hope they're able to include the same amount of detail on the braids and the cloth bandana, across rooted and sculpted versions.

Agree. If you just want a representation of Jack sparrow the dx06 and dx15 are still great pieces however i am always looking to improve. I had the shark base and wheel before but i like what i see here. The wheel, the deck and the water without the zombie shark. The whool hair and cloth bandana looks really cool to. Something new and fresh. I only wish they had root his chin dreads and mustache to. They could have

That is just the third party “Captain of Octopus” figure with the deluxe Chirrut (reused Predator) base. If you can track one down for a good price I think it is worth it for sure and a great substitute for the Hot Toys version.

It should fit. I did the same with my custom that uses the DX15 headpiece and it works fine. The medicom hat is very tight though. Ultimate Unison hat works well too. Only hat I don’t have to 100% verify is the DX06 hat
