HT hasn't been at any celebrations in the past. Sideshow has a big booth, but there have never been any HT reveals, just whatever has already been announced.

Except for Spacetrooper. They haven't had the license that long either.

I stand corrected. I guess they have done reveals in conjunction with Celebration. I guess I never really noticed as they have both been figures that I wasn't really that interested in.

UNfortunately, all these examples tend to confirm any new reveal will be some sort of repaint or retool. Imperial ground crew Jyn sounds like a good candidate for a RO related reveal and the long overdue Stormtrooper Han could also be revealed as a convention/celebration exclusive. There's also a slight chance HT will celebrate RO BR/DVD release with an all new scult. If they do, my money is on Cassian.

I really hope so ! Cassian is needed. I'm still also praying that Tarkin and Krennic will come. There is such an outcry for Tarkin, it would have surely been heard in Hong Kong by now !

Cassian is the one that makes the least sense for HT to pass up...he was the male lead and a huge part of the film. I can't see how he wouldn't sell.

At least the movie is available for download now, to satisfy our cravings for more RO viewings till the figures get released.

Cassian's starting to feel like something from the custom section. He just doesn't feel like he'd be anywhere near popular enough to do as a regular HT release, especially with the heat of RO now over. He was fine, but a bit meh in the final analysis for me.

Krennic is possibly also in the same boat for most people, but he's an imperial that has a holstered gun, cape and a distinctive white uniform (unlike most OT imperial officers) so he kind of works as a standalone villain. Importantly for HT, he needs two death troopers beside him on display.

Tarkin is hard to say - he was the biggest surprise of RO, so HT probably had no way of knowing he would be so prominent. Had they known, they might have done him, and had TLJ not been only 12 months later, they might have scrambled to get him into development, but my guess is probably not.

Sad really - the best opportunity for a Tarkin comes... and goes.

I agree with this almost entirely, but I would add that Tarkin's prominent role in ANH in addition to RO should be enough to get hot toys off their arses.

And in the case of Krennic, in addition to the beyond cool white uniform he also had his own distinct squad of mean looking killers. Not to mention that he was the driving force behind the creation of the death star, the planet destroying sphere that in large part drives the plot of the entire OT. I rest my case.

The funny thing is, I myself didn't have a really strong desire for a Tarkin pre-RO (might have grabbed him, but not really a priority,) but after RO, I was really wanting one.

There's quite a few customs people are doing now, but Tarkin to me is a bit like ANH Leia - all about a spot-on, super-detailed headsculpt and ultra-real paint (and also for Tarkin, the hands) - so it really needs to be a HT release for me.

I know there's the Asian thing and all that, but it's pretty funny they'd do a ultra-low wattage sidekick like Baze and not do Cassian, Krennic and Tarkin.

In a sales point of view, Krennic will help sale more death troopers, Tarkin will help sale more DeathStar troopers/gunners
