Is Agents of Shield popular in China?

It's not on TV over there, so the only way to watch it is either online or bootleg discs. It's not popular in the sense that if you asked 10 people about the show...maybe 2-3 can answer you.

Edit-one more thing to add: Netflix isn't available in China. So Viewers of DD would have to resort to online or bootleg discs. it's known of for sure. I'd go as far and say DD, arrow, flash have more viewers in China than AoS does.

It's not. It doesn't have the platform. Not to say it doesn have some fans. But honestly, none of the tv or streaming has a huge audience. Even Daredevil.

And the there are multiple actors on AoS that have experience and interaction with hot toys products so there is that. Can't hurt to have a built in releationship with two of the stars of AoS.

But it's just way to early to know where this will go.

As for the characters not having outfits that scream for figures, that's not any more true for the Netflix stuff really. Outside of DD the rest are mostly just people in street clothing. Even punisher is just a trench coat. The DC tv stuff has much better action figure costumes but they have a much much smaller chance to get licensed. There's just so much stuff that goes into the production of figures. It's crazy complicated.

I'm a fan of the show, and I think Kingpin is the one that really brings it to winner status.

Hate the S1 suit, and the S2 one is slightly better but still not a fan. The black ninja costume is the only cool looking DD. IMO.

Pass for me.

But knowing HT, instead of having it come with the regular release, they'd have that gun as an accessory for a "battling version"...and by battling I mean dirty knees.

Like I mentioned in another post, HT does a lot of stupid ****, but sometimes they pleasantly surprise the crap outta me. Such as announcing DD and punisher.

Anyway, nothing can dampen my spirits. I have the urge to be petty and gloat like a mutha******...but I won't.

This is HT haha. Don't expect much. I'd love very much to be proven wrong upon release...but given their recent track record, he'll come with a quarter of his weapons. You as well as I, may very well have to gear him up with the 1/6 weapons we've collected over the years.

You haven't been getting anything from the films? That's a large part of the MCU. IMO the films are the best part.

HT already did TV, 1966 Batman and Robin.

Funny with film figures I prefer Marvel, but if they really get into TV figures I'd go DC. Flash would have plenty of figures, it has the most heroes and villains of all the shows.

I've loved that promo image from the second I saw it, still bummed he didn't mow down ninjas with it.

That 3.4k like on FB speaks volumes. Their reluctance to revive the line was incredibly shortsighted. Pulling their heads outta their @$$3$ is gonna pay off because once again, they make bank and we the fans get what we want...

What a novel idea, giving the fans WHAT THEY WANT.

Hey ya never know. Even though DD is getting a line of figures, you still gotta keep expectations in check. The first coulson son of coul wasn't a big seller...so personally speaking I can't imagine an updated version will sell much better. As for the other characters...well, ask yourself this, do you honestly think their designs are compelling enough for a figure?

HT are no doubt re-dipping their toes into the pool. It's been a long time coming, And quite frankly it's wise of them to do DD first. AoS has been on a little longer than DD...however nothing within that show screams for an action figure y'know what I mean?

It had series low ratings this season, the network refused to pick up the proposed Mockingbird spin-off, and now the show is getting shuffled off to a new time slot next season, which might end up being its last. It'd be odd to suddenly, finally make a big marketing push for the show right when it looks to be on its last legs.

To be honest, and this is all anecdotal, if all my friends talk about GoT, flash, arrow, DD, walking dead, and RARELY talk about AoS...it's real telling on its popularity. I mean I'm sure there are fans of it all over and maybe it's just my friends that aren't into it...but given how little it's mentioned around me and the circles I hang out with (including friends in China), also based on what you just revealed to me...AoS doesn't seem to have strong material to make figures off of. This may sound offensive to some, but it's probably for the best HT avoids AoS. We don't want another line that'll make HT reconsider TV shows again.

Right. All those facbook likes. It's so popular, if that's the gauge, that it's almost as cool as pepper Potts figure. Watch out. But only 91,000,000 million short of a random mom in a toy chewy mask. Yep, Facebook views/likes....almost as popular as the 1/1 batman.

This is great. Even the Chinese toy forums are lit up with enthusiasm! Just as I've known all along, these shows are getting much exposure over in China. Granted it may be smaller than the number of viewers elsewhere such as the US, nonetheless it's very encouraging.
