IKR??? :lol No clue what the idea was there - unless they’ve had the license since before the movie flopped in and out of theaters.

Everyone asks for Star Wars and Marvel every single stream. We've been stuck with Hot Toys doing only those 2 licenses for years now and the community is begging for another company to do the exact same thing. :gah:

They came out of the gate with the MOST made 1/6th figure -- Ledger Joker.

Of course Star Wars.

Keanu Reeves, that's literally it, they also said they wanted to get the license for Cyberpunk 2077 to make a figure of him in that game but Hot Toys already had it.

Very interesting to hear that Warner Bros themselves have characters that they want them to make. You would think it would be the other way around. Wonder if it’s because they’re a fan of their work or what.
Also glad to hear that they’ll be doing a bunch of QC on Joker. It’ll need it. As expected though, they do want to get into Disney/Marvel/Star-Wars stuff but getting the license for it is hard. I’m sure THAT would get Hot Toys attention when Queen starts producing a ROTJ Han. :lol

Notes from the live stream so far:

- QS is asking for feedback on which movies and video games collectors would like figures of.

- There are plans to expand internationaly but will be difficult due to other brands already having the same licenses.

- There will be rigurous QC for the Joker which may start in Q4 and last a few months.

- InArt is part of the brand and not a seperate entity, InArt is the 1/6 department.

- WB and license holders have a list of characters that they want QS to make first.

- There's interest in classic movies like Godfather, Scarface.

- QS would love to make Star Wars but currently a license too hard to get.
Continuation of the notes:

- Queen wants a list of diverse licenses but is cautious about collector feedback, what people think is cool is one thing, what people want is another.

- Queen's primary goal is to introduce the next step of 1/6 scale evolution and push the boundaries if possible (like doing silicone bodies, etc).

- Queen's figures will differentiate by having tiny details like the best rooted hair in the market and removabel bullets.

- The magnetic base will depend on the collectible and not always come with a figure.

- There will be a new video today showing the Joker figure and going into detail about it with Viper.

- The seamless arms might be magnetic but John is not sure.

- Transparency is important to Queen and they will strive to communicate with the community via live streams when there's something worth communicating and they have a small team focusing on communicating with the community on social media.

- No plans for 1/3 scale Iron Man but there are plans for vehicles.

I was surprised to read a few posts ago that you only have a handful of (1/6) figures, so it sounds like you're actually doing pretty well so far. ;)
Yeah, my (often exaggerated) blogposts may have given the impression of someone surrounded by boxes, but I've done well on resisting. I kept waiting for the "perfect" look, and like I said, I was never tempted by many of the releases, so it was easy to not hoard. Now we're entering new territory though, license and selection wise, and I'm feeling the pressure for the first time in a while.

In a nutshell, the main drivers for me are a general preference of minimalism over clutter, psychedelics (putting objective reality and materials things into perspective) and my wife, who doesn't like spending money on "things", which has rubbed off on me a lot.
I just phone my mum and she berates me for wanting to spend so much on dolls... Kidding aside though, it's definitely a mindset I'm jealous of, but I've always had an addictive sort of personality, so I'm aiming at just tastefully curating displays, not cutting down to the essentials; I could never do the latter.

He frets a lot. A LOT.
I'm getting all my frustrations out on the doll collecting, so that I'll be more level-headed in other areas. Hey, it works...

No time soon for Star Wars. It will be a few years, guys.
Well, no Marvel and no Star Wars means no reason for me to jump ship. If I can't get a Runway of Emma Frost's outfits with real hair, or Anakin's glorious locks, then I'm just not interested.

Is Paul with Rooted hair in the Stillsuit?

That's got to hurt Aug Toys feelings...
Honestly, Paul's a figure I could try and swing the rooted if it's not locked behind a double-pack. I'll probably cancel the Aug version then, ngl.

- There's interest in classic movies like Godfather, Scarface.
I just got the Dam Vito... Well, I'd not buy him again, but I'd love a great Michael, so I hope they get it. Al Pacino is someone I'd pay top dollar for, it being a Michael Corleone woud be a plus. I'd also buy a Satan Pacino.

Is Viper going to sculpt all of their 1/6th scale figures, or will more artists come aboard for different projects?

More notes:

- Predator and Dutch would be a possibility if people want it.

- They have the licensing contact for Rambo.

- There are busts of Aliens on the way, 1/6 might no be possible due to FOX being owned by Disney.

- The team has done test statues of X-23 from Logan but there's no plans to sell it.

- Box art for the Joker is not made yet but might be similar to the artist edition box art of the 1/4 Joker.

- Queen wants feedback but is aware of favoritism, they have created an InArt group so lots of collectors can give the best feedback.

- There will be polls after the Joker is out to figure out which licenses are worth pursuing next.

- The brand will grow as the company grows.

- It will be challenging to mantain communication with the community as the company continues to grow.

- The Walking Dead could be possible, art director is a big fan of the show.

- The Dark Knight line will have a 1/3 Batman and Bat Pod coming in the near future, 1/6 scale a possibility.

- Spider-Man 1/2 reveal possibly coming in June

- BVS Batman and other Snyder Verse stuff possibly coming next year, Snyder Verse very popular in China.

Wow, so much communication. It’s like they actually care.

This feels like getting out of a long term, toxic relationship all over again. :love
