Here is an adjustment to the sculpt. I've made an animated GIF to show the oversized chin on the WGP sculpt. This is SilverSurfers paint job. I redid the chin in photoshop. SS paintjob on this is perfect. The sculpt needs to be shaved off a lot! With the adjustment, this IS Indy.

Best,

Robert

ps. I might have taken off a bit to much but you know what i mean ;)

Yeah, I think Murderofcrows was the first one to pick up on the chin issue - he sanded his down before painting, though he still won't choose it over the SSC. The gif really shows it nicely.

Someone said that 3D prints sometimes elongate the finished item vertically and it certainly seems to be the case here. A shame - it really is a great sculpt and I'm severely bummed with this outcome.

There's still hope in that sculpt I posted earlier, but it's another one that looks 100% awesome in a computer file...:gah:

Yep it was me who said it needed to be shaved and when ahead and did it with a dremel. It might not be side by side but you can see the head before and after unpainted. The other issue is the head is undersized for most bodies. It's actually smaller than the HT head and it'll be hard to escape the pinhead look if using it

You're saying that the WGP head is SMALLER than the HT head?? That's no good at all. I think the HT head is too small as it is.

What body is that on your pic??

Swede that is correct, as you can see proof is in the pics, the WGP is the smallest even out of the shrunken PF head which I have as well, but think the squinty eyes on it looks like Indy just walked into the sunlight after being in a pitch black room. I used the TT 19 which I believe is the same one the Hot Toys Indy comes on, only difference is the narrow shoulder arm mod has been performed. I love the look you get with the arm mod, it really captured the look of Harrison Ford's natural slouch

This is a brilliant line-up. And I realize now that the SS hat is actually the best of the three. So is the sculpt. Sometimes the grass is not greener.

Wor, my exact thoughts after putting the time and effort into trying to get the best representation of Ford for my figure. After seeing them together, I had to share this pic. I've had it all along, just needed to bring Trev's sculpt out from under the crappy paint and literally only set a small layer of magic sculpt on the crown and blended it in

And I think this is the Indy I'm sticking with, pretty sad when I was 28 or so when I started working on an Indy custom (my first custom and the one that dragged me into all this as well) and all the time and money involved in one figure. I'll be 42 this year by the way.

You do? I'd like to see it. You don't prefer that one over the original SS one? It would be cool to see that one in the line up as well.

:( Bummer.

I do have my TTM19 modded with the narrow arms, but I wanted to use a different body altogether. I set the HT Indy head on it, and it was a good 10% too small. I'm still going to wait until I get the head in hand to see how it looks, but if I have to go back to the TTM19, so be it.

I primed my hatted Trev head and it's odd what effect a singular colour can have. Suddenly, the hat looked right, from all angles! Ford jumps out of the sculpt too, right off the bat.

You can't quite see the hat in my pic, I had to lay the head down on my windowsill to get enough light to shoot with. UK weather strikes again! Anyhow check it out:

Having done that, I decided to dig out the hatless one and prime that too. The pic highlighted a few paint flaws so that has since been stripped.
Take a look anyway:

One thing this has taught me is that taking WIP pics can highlight things you otherwise might not have noticed, like that flaw on his eye.

I might carry on and paint them, or I could wait till I have the WGP in hand, prime that and do a comparison shot. Depends on how much longer that takes to get here, and whether or not I get itchy fingers!

I think you have an excellent Indy there! :clap

14 years ain't so bad. I have about the same span (13 years) since I started my Indy customs in 2000.

So what is the ideal "raise" on the hat after you did it and shaved it down some? 1/8 inch, less, more? Did you cast your head or hat off -- if so I'd be very interested in obtaining one.

Man, that really does look good, Roger! If anyone has any pics of this on the DX05 body and gear? I'd really love to see it.

Thanks, I haven't seen Trev's heads look like that since they were announced.

I think I started my Indy in 2005 and I'm still not done!
