Disappointing. I was looking forward to this, hoping some changes would be made before it officially went up for PO. The vest is a nice addition in theory...but it's not very well done. Dang crop top and no neck guard. They've tried to mesh too wide a variety of Punishers look and failed. Just look at the Max run. Bam, sorted.T shirt and trench, additional tactical vest. NO WHITE GLOVES AND BOOTS.
So close yet so far, like Deadpool (No unmasked sculpt, difference in material between body and head too jarring, bulky costume). Wolverine looks to be a pass at this point, too. I don't need Iron Man or Spidey. Doom is the one I've been looking forward to most, I'm hoping for an articulated version of the Legendary Scale. I'm excited for his reveal/PO 4 years from now.

Given what we know now.

I wish Sideshow would lose the 1:6 Marvel license and let HT run with it in addition to their 1:6 Marvel film license. We might as well pay HT pricing and get HT design and quality instead of paying just about HT pricing and get dubious Sideshow design and quality.

I don't care for HT either, but ultimately HT is far superior to Sideshow. Imagine if HT didn't have an exclusive distribution deal for now) with Sideshow.

The same goes for the 1:6 DC line as well.

Sideshow will continue to rape us . . . ER . . . make $ from us on the PFs and statues (for now) short of epic quality screw ups.

Sideshow simply needs to abandon everything 1:6.

I wish this series was based on either actual comic book or movie designs, and not merely Sideshow's own dodgy interpretations.

The Punisher they teased looked far more like a comic book appearance:

But they seem to be throwing everything at these figures with little regard to the final look. Maybe that's down to licensing restrictions?

I originally had big hopes for their Doctor Doom... :(

I realize it's a Disney thing, but I would have preferred less stylized pistols/rifle. I'm not an expert on that sort of thing, but those don't look like they are based on real weapons... Guess I'll have to buy one of those 1/6 weapons kits...
Totally agree! That is a major turn off.....also wish the skull was more classic comic prominent....oh well

Thanks DeltaForceChung for posting those comparison pics. Other than the detail on the weapons, those photos actually make me feel better about pre-ordering this figure!
I for one, don't like film-based comic characters. Regardless of the quality of the figure itself, for me the comic characters are much bigger than the actors who are playing them. Because of that, I don't really like narrowing down some of my favourite characters to a particular actor (probably with the exception of Adam West and Burt Ward). So I'll always prefer this Punisher figure over the other 2.
Also, and this is a general comment not pointed at anyone, I don't think it's fair to suggest that people are fanboys, or cultists, for HT or SSC, or any other manufacturers. Just because someone likes a figure, doesn't mean they are defending a particular company. Maybe they just like that particular figure.

He oughta be more loaded with guns for that price. So should Deadpool.

Make's me think of these new Hot Toys. I liked all the stuff older Hot Toys had.

So basically Steven Seagal would have made a cool/great Punisher on the big screen OR the figure is really a cosplay of Steven Seagal as The Punisher?

I like the look of this figure. Just don't justify the price for what SSC puts out. Production piece is always less than stellar compared to the prototype. At $179 like others have said, then I could see myself picking this up, but at $240 - pass.
Problem is the 1/6 market is so flooded with product right now and collectors need to be more picky in those the preorder and buy. I know I am.

179.99 instant preorder. 240.00 have to pass. You are right, market is flooded and prices high. I think hts and ssc is over estimating the demand and prices we are willing to pay. I only have 3 items on flex payment now compared to 8 or more. At these prices, it is not really fun anymore.

The core group of guys I talk to regularly have the same feelings.

I have become more selective in what I PO these days. Outside of Deadpool, who I PO'd at the early part of the year, I don't see myself collecting many more comic/movie superheroes. Strictly Star Wars and Back to the Future after that.

ummm, no I can't see Seagal actually playing the Punisher...Unless you were kidding...lol...But at certain angles in those pics, the figure does have some of his facial expression

A while back I was in my LCS, and came across an old Punisher issue, and the cover art looked like Clint Eastwood. I had never considered him before, he would have dominated as Frank.

I am with you. I am focusing on ot star wars, batman, and doc from BTTF and probably Marty from bttf2. And I am really being selective as you. I started collecting pf a bit ago and bought superman, batgirl, and Preordered modern age bats and arkham joker. With pf with shipping hitting 500.00 I am done there pretty much outside of possibly getting ledger joker. But that depends on price also.

More than I would have liked, but i'm still going to buy this as I'm a huge diehard punisher fan. I'll paint the gloves and boots black though :)
