I always thought of the leadership as being ( in no particular order ) CC, Destro, Baroness, Storm Shadow, Zartan, Bludd, Mindbender and the twins.
At least that's the impression I got from the 80s cartoon I grew up with.
In the cartoon, Storm Shadow and Bludd were field commanders, but didn't seem particularly high on the chain of command, while Destro and Zartan did contracted work with Cobra. But Destro was in nearly every episode CC was in, acting essentially his primary advisor, so. . .I don't know. Seems like Destro's role shifted over time to the point where he was more officially a part of Cobra than in the early stuff. Pre-1986, apart from Cobra Commander, the Crimson Twins and Baroness were the only ones that seemed explicitly high up in the official chain of Cobra command. Firefly only rarely appeared in the cartoon, as did Scrap Iron, so I wouldn't rank either of those guys very highly.

Mindbender appeared in the same episode Serpentor did, so if you say he is high in the ranks then I guess you have to say the same for Serpentor (personally, I try to pretend both never existed).

at this point now,its time they get a bit away from Cobra and start doing Good Joes.....Snowjob,Shipwreck and Gung-ho are 3 that must be made priority (wishful thinking on Mutt and Junkyard)...Scarlet is likely around the corner now that the female body is done.

Cobra will have possibly 5 straight releases

Major Bludd
Cobra Commander
Baroness
Destro
Buzzer

I want to see MORE good joes...

Honestly,I also think Tomax and Xamot should be next years SDCC exclusive set
I agree that some more Joes are due. Would love to see a classic styled Shipwreck, but I know better.

buzzer huh? my fingers are crossed

On the brightside, if the reveal doesn't work out I'm sure they could use him in Team America 2 or something. Come on Sideshow don't eff this up!

Firefly > Bludd

I always got the impression Firefly was contracted out for individual jobs and not a full time Cobra employee. Bludd seemed like he was the guy in charge of the troops and the Twins the head of the Crimson Guards of course.

I think if they retcon'd MARS as the weapon's development part of Cobra, Destro's apparent high position within Cobra would make more sense. Him being a freelance weapons dealer really makes no sense with his ranking in Cobra. But I guess we're looking too much into it :lol

Yeah, I'm not a Serpentor fan at all. He dethroned Cobra Commander and brought Cobra-La with him :lol

You say this after the reveal of the recent Cobra Commander?

I actually was THRILLED when I saw the new Cobra Commander and PO'd day one. At least they got him 90% right to the original source material. Destro however is a mess and a missed opportunity. The worst part is his outfit and cheap "painted" jewel aside from the bolts in his head sculpt. I mean really, WTH is with that ugly gigantic black sweatshirt and fuzzy fleece jacket? He looks like he's swimming in his cheap clothes and he should retail alongside Barbie for $19.95 :(

The 1/6 world is filled with stuff to make just about every character. We just need SS to fill some of the gaps and parts. :dunno

Ski made one many many moons ago.....

Firefly is contracted, despite having a Cobra sigil on his uniform. But as far as the demand factor, he's way above Bludd. I think even Baroness was higher than Bludd on CC's command list.

Baroness was essentially #2, just below CC himself, at least in the early days.

Bludd, Firefly and Destro were all hired guns, but it seemed that Bludd was more of a field commander for the troops. Somewhere Destro became #2 in the organization, maybe with Baroness' death?

Firefly just got sent out on missions with high ranking Cobras like Wild Weasel and Scrap Iron. Wasn't really part if the Command structure. (Oh, and then somewhere along the way, became a Koga ninja master and donned a neon green outfit and mesh mask)

I actually like the bolts! I will give you the fuzzy cheap looking jacket though, they can do much better than that for sure.

Glad to see Sideshow if finally disappointing GI Joe fans like they've been disappointing SW fans for years :lol

Please let's all agree never to discuss "Firefly as ninja master" ever again. Same goes for Zartan. Or Flint as leader of an ecological protection team. That was all a Cobra Commander fever dream, nothing more.

Trust me, this is nothing new :lol But at least with Star Wars I assume they don't take significant liberties with basic character design. . .do they? :panic:

Destro and Jabba the Hutt both debuted in 1983. Maybe SSC can release a black Jabba with a bathrobe and little frog necklace. They've got to keep with the times right? Not be slaves to that 80's nonsense right?
