I'm actually ok with the slow development. Gives me more time to save and for them to get it right.

Ahhhhh... Didn't realize you were referring to an individual and not Sideshow itself.

No problem. :duff

Still, with all do respect to Silent Surfer, I would think if a factory could recreate Hot Toys paint job, they should be ble to o the same for Sideshow or Silent Surfer.

Possibly, possibly.
I will just say this, as to not start a debate on HT...I personally think SS is one of the best I've seen.

To your original point, though, there is an advantage HT has that SSC never had before. Hopefully their partnership helps provide some of that, and the SSC production paint apps can more closely match those of the prototypes.

I'm afraid to see SSC's prices, though, if that comes to full fruition. :(

According to RS report from sdcc " Not on display was the General Grievous we saw last year. Fear not, it hasn't been cancelled. Sideshow is still developing the articulation to insure the figure doesn't succumb to the forces of gravity. He may fall when battling General Kenobi, but that'll be the only time the production version will fall, so we can wait. "
:clap

Very glad to hear this. Relieved it's official!

Anyone else notice that is is in the upcoming products alert section on Sideshow's site along with the new Vader and the TPM Obi.. Hopefully it means we'll see some kind of announcement soon(ish) rather than later...

Why is there a July 10th 2012 PREVIEW I've never seen?

Very strange but I'm not holding my breath we'll see it any time soon. I hope I'm wrong about that.

And unfortunately, I think the price is going to be around $250 for this guy.

I think youre right on the price so if it's coming I hope it won't be released until after march 2013. My wallet can' t handle it any sooner. Dang Hot Toys keeps pulling me outta my nice cozy Star Wars world with their stuff. Just po'd Mark VII yesterday. Had to do it. had to convert my snowtrooper over to reward points purchase to convince myself I'm not overdoing it.

While the date is for this year, if memory serves me right, that's the same pic they used lasted year :huh

Nothing new. Depressing. Hopefully it is coming though. The main SW figure I've been waiting for far too long.
