Just preordered the exclusive. Their newsletter trickery got me

:lol

i just ordered the exclusive too as well about 15 minutes ago. if that newsletter low quantity alert was a ploy, it sure worked on me cause it made me order. I honestly wanted to wait til some were in hand first before I ordered, but oh well I couldn't risk this selling out.

I tried to finalize my preorder at work and it just wouldn't take. Did it actually sell out for a little while?

I did manage to get my order in for the exclusive a few minutes ago. It now says one per person.

Clearly that tactic works. Welcome to the club, gents.

By the look of things. Anyway has any idea when will 'preorder' be switched to 'buy now' ? At least for the regular edition.

I believe its once they have it "in stock" -- meaning available quantities in the warehouse that are not scheduled to ship to preorder customers. That process -- sorting what's left -- can take over a month if there's a split shipment.

THAT'S the incredible technology!

I figured as much. :lol

Anyway, I'm still so excited about this figure. First Star Wars preorder I've had in a loooooong time direct from SS. This is a special one. The one they said wouldn't be done. The one that's been teased for the last two and half years since its fateful appearance at SDCC 2011. If its like Sideshow's other robots... it's going to set new expectations for the entire line.

yeah, i'm excited for this as well. it's gonna look beastly on display. now ssc just has to make the magnaguards and then it'll be a perfect display.

Nice review, but pics weren't very exciting though.

When do we expect this to start shipping? End of next week maybe?

Wouldn't mind a 1/6 scale Invisible Hand ship...

That flash is really not flattering, but it does manage expectations. Thanks to Yoda for the review.

Still, love the box, love the DX style inside, and the figure looks to be insane. I simply cannot wait to pose him -- so many options: full fighting mode; hunched over, cape draping...

The only thing he's missing is his magnetic repelling line.

I had one payment left, but haven't heard anything from SS about whether or not I'll be able to get this figure early

Wow, looks brilliant. Yet another figure I'd buy two of if the hobby wasn't already beating the heck out of my wallet. And finally, Sideshow has switched to foam! Hopefully they start packing all their high-end stuff in it. Just seems so much better than the plastic trays. Glad I didn't let my dislike of the PT cause me not to order this figure. Will be epic on display, especially once the Magda bodyguards are made.

It is a beautiful figure, and I am definitely getting it. My only issue, and it really buggs me is the "ankle" joint, it's a giant ball, and it's really distracting to me. If you do an image search there is nothing that looks like that remotely. I understand that accuracy has to be sacrificed for articulation and general engineering and I understand that he's basically a really advanced cartoon and never existed in reality, but those big ball joints just stand out so much to me. I still can't wait to get him though.
