Another thing that cracks me up about AOTC is that R2 tries to literally murder C-3PO by pushing him off the ledge in the droid factory. There's no way he could have anticipated 3PO being grabbed by a large flying droid out of the blue. That's hardcore! :lol

I NEVER understood that part, but then again I noticed he did that to 3P0 on the Sail barge too. :dunno

That's such a sad statement, especially since I really liked 3PO in the OT. There is one moment in the prequel where C-3PO really works for me, and that's when he is arguing with R2 aboard the Naboo cruiser on Geonosis; the whole "I am am in charge here!" as R2 is taking off just harkens back to the OT chemistry that made these characters so charming...

Sad yet true. And I loved the droids in the OT entirely. None of it seemed forced and it i did, it seemed funny and believable. One of my favorite yet random 3PO moments is in Return of the Jedi when on Endor he goes "We have decided that we will stand here." or something like that. The way he said it was as if he was trying to rebel against his orders... haha it was funny.

Hated 3PO in the prequels. Fortunately, the new Star Tours ride was done in a more OT fashion so I like 3PO again.

That's because these older actors start "playing" the role rather than being.

When Anthony Daniels did 3PO in 77, he was playing a character, now when he does the voice it's almost like his interpretation of how he thought he played 3PO and it comes across as forced, overcooked and annoying.

Same with Peter Mayhew - he tilts his head every two seconds in the PT, whereas the tilt in the OT was always a reaction to something... and it rarely happened.

Haha good point. I feel that 3PO in the prequels was written AS C-3PO rather than written FOR C-3PO. When watching 3PO in the original trilogy, he delivers his lines, he expresses his feelings, and only goes "oohhhhh" when something in Jabba's Palace was reaching at him or when he's actually shocked about something.

In the Prequels, he's a stuttering buffoon. Starting every sentence with "Oh...." or "Oh uh --"

Those are character traits that was put in as if they thought that's the way he acts. That and he pitched his voice way higher than his original voice... light as a feather. It used to have weight. That could come with older age but it's something they could have fixed in post.

I got these and they look ____ing awesome, can't wait to break them out of sleep mode. :p

The articulation is pretty damn nice on these guys, so glad i bought them and will be getting most of the other variants but, nothing from Genosis. I believe the antenna are metal rods with a plastic cap over them, really nicely engineered figures.

Did you guys heat the necks with a hair dryer before pulling them all the way out? Mine are up quite a bit but so far I've been to scared to keep pulling until the joint is exposed.

Its really an act of faith to get the neck fully extended... just be sure to grip the neck (not the head) and pull with even pressure until it pops into place.

**that's what she said**

All right I'll see how it goes. I almost had buyer's remorse after picking these up but after taking one out and posing it I love it!

It really is a spitting image of the droids you see on screen.

i've been thinking about getting these, I have most of the clones now and might want to set up an opposing side in another case, picked up Ventress this morning, really hoping Grevious is shown at toy fair...I feel like if these guys were sold as singles i'd jump right on, still, 2-pack is the price of one clone...hmmm

Holy crap did the neck on mine need to be pulled hard. Nearly had a heart attack when it finally popped into place with a start. :thud:

Looks so much better now. :yess:

Hey, anyone own these and Gentle Giant's bust? Cause I'd like to know if GG's Blaster allows SSC BD's 2 fingers to go through the trigger guard.

Congrats :duff I was definitley worried about damaging mine... but luckily they seem to be made well enough to withstand the strain needed to pull them out.

These and IG-88 have really put Sideshow into another league :lecture

I have the opposite of buyer's remorse. I cancelled mine due to lack of funds but wish I could have them. (getting posters custom framed is the equivalent to one of these babies)

The blaster on the bust does allow for both fingers.

**EDIT: sorry, I misunderstood what you were asking. I'm not sure if Sideshow's battle droid would be able to fit it's fingers in the GG blaster. They do seem about the same size though.

Got mine today :yess: and put the hair dryer on them straight away.
Only parts I found were difficult to more were the fingers and the neck. With the neck you just have to have faith and pull hard.

I have one backpack which was ok but the second wont say on at all, so a bit of glue was needed. Damn shame they did not go with the magnetic backpack.

And lucky I have two spare display stands.

Looking good eti1978 ! I got mine a week ago and just took them out yesterday. The necks had to be eased out and the only other problem was rotating the arms, there was one arm on one droid which took a long time to get turning, but all is good now. I hope to get some pics up soon. These are going to be fun to pose and look at. If anybody is on the fense you should just get them, you won't regret it. :yess:
