Just got home and unboxed it....

...and after the tidal wave of negative initial reaction in here I damped my expectations down considerably, but....now that it's here....I like it. A lot. No futzing here yet {I'll give it a go tomorrow) but I think it looks pretty good. I've got a few little issues to contend with like the brim on the hat version is really warped...hoping a little heat on it will flatten it out...and of course some straightening out of the outfit, a little WT on the clothes and I think he'll be just fine.

I'll say this....having Luke here now has convinced me on flipping the switch for the tauntaun. Think Luke astride that beast is gonna be a damned impressive sight on display....

In the meantime, gonna have a good time with this one....I'd say the sky has stopped it's rapid ascent.... :)

Spent the night futzing my recent arrivals which includes Luke and I am really impressed the more time spent with it. I am still not a fan of the non hatted version but the two with the hat look fantastic. Without a doubt will be order Han.....

It's funny that everyone had the same thing - fearing a complete disaster as you open the box and being more than pleasantly surprised. It's really a very impressive figure in-hand. There's things that can be done to improve it (a few of which I will do) but I'd argue that none are absolutely essential to a casual collector. It's pretty great right out of the box.

I used a $20 coupon so this was a decent value. I almost passed on this figure (only ordered a couple of months ago) and so glad I didn't.:clap

I used a TTM22 for my mod. I do not like the ankle pegs that come with the pro. However, I also used the longer Capt. America ankle pegs so that he wouldn't be too short. Added some padding to the arms and legs to fill out the uniform and dyed the vest as well.

That looks fantastic. Best looking moded Hoth Luke I've seen. Looks like you also removed the rank bag and stuck it outside the pocket. Very nice.

Did you use the Rit Dye?

He looks too good. ;) Hamill in ESB never looked so good and was always really frumpy in this costume.

If no one else has watched the new Hoth Luke video on Sideshow's site, here's a tip they give in it: Rotate the cuffs so the seam lines up with the seam on the glove - that's how they're supposed to sit, the fit is supposedly better and it helps sell the illusion.

:lol......OKAY...... Anyways, glad you guys are liking this figure turned out.

Momaw, I used Tan Rit Dye for the vest. I also trimmed the rank badge before gluing over the pocket.

Just a few more pics showing how the face can be covered up. Not accurate, but it'll do for now until I find a replacement for the scarf. Also rotated the cuffs thanks to Pixelpiper's suggestion:hi5:

Scarf looks great! How / where did you attach it?

I haven't had much time to futz him yet, but I am really liking him. The mods you guys are doing really make this figure look great. I plan on doing many of the same ones in the coming days.

Anyways...

I may be in the minority, but I like the exclusive sculpt (and not because I am covering it up :D). There are a lot of display possibilities, so much I may pick up a second one.
