Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Blue or Brown, the EX will be one or the other... Kenner Hoth Han is my all time favorite, so I'll display the blue.

Big question is, do SS give these any snow weathering?

I was just going to post that!

I vote for blue coat. :monkey3

Pretty sure the blue coat will be the exclusive since brown seems to be the standard LFL is going by from now on.

I'm guessing no... they'll have some weathering like the Snowtrooper, but I'm not expecting any faux snow effect.

How dare you try to put this thread back on topic?! :lol

I've pretty much stopped collecting the 1/6 scale Star Wars figures, but this will be hard to pass up -- I've always had a soft spot for tauntauns, and think this will be the biggest and best statue of one that has been made.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

I hope they give us more previews! I really like this!

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

does anyone think it will be possible just to own one taun taun?

my gut instinct says no...............if you have luke...........you have to have han or vice-versa.

which will be $1,000 or close to display.........:gah:

Their tauntauns never appeared together (unless you count Luke watching Han riding off into the distance) so no, I won't need two whole tauntauns.

If they really include switchout heads for both Luke and Han's tauntauns that will allow for nice variety in changing the display. You could have Luke sitting on his tauntaun with Han posed separately or Han riding on his and a beat up Luke lying at his animal's feet.

yea that's the real question.............i'm sure there will be some that buy ony one to display like you suggest. but others that would want both for luke & han. those would end up with an extra head with no way to off load it really as the single buyers already have the extra head.
maybe have a jabba trophy room mount for the extra head it could insert into..........:lol

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

I'd love to have both Luke and Han on Tauntauns, but damn, that is some serious coin... BUT, I could imagine getting a second if, for example, BBTS marked them down at somepoint down the road.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

I'd just get one Taun Taun for Luke and a Probot for Han to shoot.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Either way I'm waiting for Hoth Han before I decied to get this. Unless SS Hoth Luke blows me away... which I doubt it will. ;)

That would be too cool... and at least on the close up shot of the TaunTaun the straps are not present, so if they're removable that'd be very possible. That was the problem with the Hasbro one, you had to cut out and resculpt around the straps since Jabba's didn't have them.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Honestly I think I'd have to use the Taun Taun with Luke, for that iconic ESB opening scene look. Han I'd prefer with the hood down/Echo Base look.

I'm really running out of room... :(

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun (in development)

Too bad Tauntauns don't have wings, I have plenty of ceiling space available. ;)

On a super bright note, by some coincidental goings-on yesterday I started re-evaluating my shelf layout and came up with a solution to fit one Tauntaun and rider should it be released. And should it not be taller than about 19.25" mounted.

Now I'm more eager to find out any details about this thing.

If you're not using a cell phone, here's a proper link (embedded on the forum):

At the very least it looks like the video confirms you'll have to install the head when you open the box. :) But not how many heads are packed in, nor what year this might be released.
