Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

I can't right now but there are some pics of someone elses in the other forum now. :)

Head seam looks very noticable in his pics.

He looks really cute!

Seam doesn't look too bad to me (except from that one side angle). Overall looks great! He looks really surprised in the up-close shot! Han must have goosed him.

Alternate head.

That's the "blowing out the birthday candles" head.:lol

Sweet, can't wait to hear your impression of him and see some pics :duff

The problem with hairing the Hasbro piece is he was a but too big proportion wise to begin with, and there is not much you can dremmel off since the sculpted fur is pretty short and the rubber/plastic is not that thick. So adding fur onto it will always make it look better.

I think a similar thing would happen with the Sideshow piece, sure you could grind it down assuming it's not hollow (although sometimes they are) but man would that be a lot of work.

It is a little too big as seen in the comp pic above, but I think the head can be scaled down slightly with a few tricks. It's mostly the vertical height of mouth/head and size of the eyes. I'm trying it using a Barbie horse body because I won't be getting the SSC piece.

I guy on here furred him up I think his name was andy hibbs. I have some of the fur he used left that he sent to me. he dremmeled the body down a little. but it looks good enough to me and $4oo+ cheaper as well

I love it, especially the redo of the head. The slightly fat thing is the only problem I see.

I need to see this in person to judge that seam.

She sure is cute though.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

Stupid to have a switch out head gimmick that makes both versions look unsightly due to the seam. Would have rather they just offered two tauntauns. If you want to display both Luke and Han on their mounts you have to buy two anyway.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

I would have just preferred one of the heads turned more to the side so this guy didn't have to be displayed almost dead-on when placed on a shelf - if you want to see its face anyway.

The derpy head looks like it might be modeled on the scene where Han's Tauntaun dies of exposure.

My pictures are nowhere as good as PixelPiper but here are a few I took...

That's because all I had to do was copy them from another forum where the photographer posted them. ;) If I could add a word-bubble to that last image it would be off to the right and say 'seriously, wtf?' haha.

I won't be ordering this myself until sometime later in the year.
