Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

Damn, that looks pretty awesome, Dinosoar Daz! I really wish I had the room for it!

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

All those photos are great!

In fact, they are so great that I thought, "what the hell. Maybe I'll get it anyway and figure out where to display it later".

Then I went to the Sideshow site and I had forgotten it was $350--I thought it was $300. Hmm. Not what I expected but ok. And then I saw the shipping is $43! I know it's a huge piece, but damn. A total of $393, or even $373 with a coupon, is just a little too rich for my blood. :(

I'll rethink getting it if it's still around after I've gotten Hoth Han, the HT Han and Chewie set, the Scoutie and TOD Indy.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

Waiting for awhile to get this should not be a problem and may result in a lower price. That's my plan.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

Thanks for the all the pics Fett73, Fremen, Dinosoar Daz and Pizza!

Congrats on the new piece!

Looks great and can't wait to get one…but I'm with Yodasan, I will wait for this one to go on sale. I got the Dewback when it first came out and that sat around and went on sale plenty of times…hoping the same for this.

Awesome photos Fett73, Fremen & Pizza. Pizza I love how you've used the reins to disguise the seam.

Mad the price does stop you in your tracks, doesn't it. Shipping to New Zealand
was a massive $122. Thank the Maker for all those free reward points at Spooktacular.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

About the seam: Why not applying just around the seam some grey latex?

That should be easy to remove if needed and the seam is gone.

Just drybrushing it with a little white and it should'nt be noticeable.

Better than permanent putty filling.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

Latex caulk could work well, but also gypsum putty (regular drywall compound, not the fast set kind) would be easy to remove. In Canada and the US, both readily available in small quantities from Home Depot and the like.

That looks so good with Clint Eastwood on.

More because I love her.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

Love Tauntauns, and I'm happy for everyone who has got this great looking piece, but this is just making me wish someone would do a prop replica of the stop motion puppet. I would literally sell pretty much everything I have to own that.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

I got my Tauntaun today, and I'm surprised- the neck seam is much less of a problem than I expected. The digital photos really accentuate it, but seen in ordinary lighting conditions the seam is subtle enough. I love this piece.

Re: 1/6th Scale Sideshow TaunTaun

Here you go. I cut the acrylic rod down on the Probe Droid so it will fit in a Detolf, so it is a little lower than some others are.
