Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

I think that difference is all in the color. The green in the Tiger version is much closer to what we see on screen, it's a more muted version, a bit darker, that way the shadows in the sculpt aren't as harsh. If the face is a darker color the contrast between the shadows and the highlights isn't as high.

As old as Yoda was in ESB, when you look at the stills, he doesn't look as wrinkly as he does in the sculpt shown.

Part of the reason why PT Yoda looks so different is that the image is so clear, in ESB, the film was full of grain, not as sharp, as current film of capturing what you see on the screen, not what the actual prop is. standards, so it obscured the image a bit. That's why I've always been a fan Which is the exact opposite of what Lucasfilm wants.

If you watch the HD copy of the film, Yoda looks pretty damn clear. Infact, that entire film has little grain and looks as sharp as a modern day film. The reason why PT Yoda looks unnaturally crisp is because he is a 3D rendering.

You nailed it - the Jay Leno chin/jawline is what the main problem with SS Yoda is.

Alright, so I played with the photo a bit so that Luke was the proper scale on my monitor. Short answer, I made it 850 pixels wide. On my monitor, tha brings it in at 1:1 to the Luke figure

5.5 inches on the Luke figure

with the picture still scaled at 850 pixels wide, he's pretty close to 5.5...

and side-by side (same plane, more or less)

I think Yoda's size looks fine, I'm sure the body is made to have use beyond Yoda so it won't be perfect height to the movies, but it's still closer to his height against other figures than the hobbits were.

Still looks too green.

I like the sculpt, I know it's not for everyone but I'm happy with how he turned out. He looks sad to me.

Looks great in those shots. SS did a nice job on him. Well worth the wait.

Now I hope they can replicate the skin tone . . .

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

One thing I'm not liking with some of these new creature figures, it seems like they're going with Medicom style, single axis joints at the wrists, I hope not, it's such an inferior design.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

On top of that, it's a DUAL DOLL DOT!!

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!
