Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Great, as if one weren't bad enough, now there's 2 :google

It's like they were thinking "Well, Yoda's really small, so we have to make sure the highlight is EVEN BIGGER so people will see it"

:thud:

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Disappointed in the sculpt on this one. The eyes, chin, ears, neck etc all are off a bit. :thud: It's close but I know they will do nothing to tweak it.

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

I must admit, he looks a lot better in these new pics. I can see more of ESB Yoda in him now. Still not dead-on, but a big improvement over his appearance in the Sideshow photos.

I agree, he looks much better there.
I figured what's throwing it off, it's just the extra long chin and slightly too large button nose. Otherwise it's very accurate.

I don't hate the Sideshow's version at all, I just prefer the Medi sculpt more.

And two eyes made out of coal. :lol

That looks pretty damn cool. Price is more than I would pay, but cool none the less

The display figure looks awesome! Huge improvement over the prototype pics. :yess::clap

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

Just to demonstrate there's something terribly wrong with Sideshow's photo

At 5.5 inches, Yoda is too big, he'd be positively enormous in a backpack on Luke's back.
He looks good to me in size...

Wow. That is crazy. So is it actually cheaper to order directly from Sideshow for this?

You know, for years I imported records and CDs from the UK and Europe and would choke on the ridiculous exchange rates and price hikes. It's kinda nice to see the shoe on the other foot! :nana:

The U.S. dollar is weaker than the British Pound 1 GBP = $1.52 U.S. dollars so you are only paying that much if you are buying with American dollars. :nana:

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

can someone explain the doll dot again???

Its the white dots painted on eyes to simulate catch-lights (the reflection of light naturally seen on the human eye).

Its commonly used with dolls (hence the name), but high-end figures use gloss on the eyes which makes the dots redundant and typically look a bit odd.

You still have to pay import taxes! :pfft:

:lol

Re: Sideshow 1:6 TESB Yoda & Dagobah Hut Environment!

You'd have to be stupid to live in the U.S. and import it from the U.K. :lol :pfft:

Sometimes importing is the only option available :lecture

I used to think it was terrible that the US was missing out on such great products Europe and Japan had and had to resort to importing records and such. But I guess I never realized that there are SOME things out there that are exclusive to the US and not available abroad except through imports. I just always thought the rest of the world had cooler stuff. I mean, who would want boring old American products, right? ;)

Anyway, all the SDCC shots are making the hut (or as my wife refers to it, Yoda's dream house) seem more and more tempting!
